TEXARKANA COLLEGE Pulp and Paper Technology TAPPI: Technical Association for the Pulp and Paper Industry TEXAS STATE TECHNICAL COLLEGE-HARLINGEN Aviation To score in to 10% nationally on the Air Frame and Power Plant licensing examinations reported by the FAA TEXAS STATE TECHNICAL COLLEGE-MARSHALL As a relatively new technical college in East Texas, TSTC Marshall will continue an aggressive rate of growth over the next 20 years. Through continuous quality improvement, expanded service, and increased access TSTC-Marshall will attract and serve increasing numbers of individuals previously unserved and underserved. A key underlying assumption supporting projected growth will require continuation of current formula funding with increases to accommodate for inflation percentages. TSTC-Marshall will grow as a recognized residential technical college of high quality drawing unserved and underserved participants from a continually expanding geographic area. Development of an array of services and activities to promote comprehensive personal/educational development of students will require expanded funding and, within five years, a $5 million investment in a student center facility. In response to workforce demand, TSTC-Marshall will regularly establish new programs and services targeted to supply industry demands in advanced and emerging technologies and priority demand occupations. Launching of new programs will require significant funding. New programs in fields not already established often require funding in excess of $1 million. New degrees and certificates that are spun off of existing programs typically carry a price tag of $300,000. Projected cost for addition of one new program and two spin-off degrees per year will be $1.6 million annually. TSTC-Marshall will employ efficiencies of scale to maximize use of facilities through creative scheduling, shared usage, and night and weekend class and program scheduling. However, to accommodate projected growth over the next 15 years, new facilities must be funded and constructed.
