Welcome Teams, On behalf of the New Sarepta Peewee teams, we are pleased to welcome all players, team officials, families and friends to the 2014 NSMHA Fall Classic Peewee Tournament. We wish you all good luck in what should prove to be a fun filled weekend of hockey. Organizing a hockey tournament is a very time consuming endeavor. Please join us in thanking our Tournament Committee and volunteers for all of their efforts in making this weekend possible. New Sarepta Peewee Eagles2014 Hockey Tournament

November 28-30Rules and Regulations

Tournament1. This tournament will be played within the rules and regulations of Hockey Alberta.

2. Please bring all tournament concerns to the attention of the Tournament Coordinators. On ice referee decisions are final. Tournament Coordinator decisions are final.

Games1. Each team will play 3 games, and advance to either the A or B finals.

2. Each game shall consist of: 3 minutes of warm up. All round robin game periods will be 3 x 20 minute run time periods with the last

5 minutes of the 3rd period stop time. Penalty minutes during run time periods are as follows:

Minor penalties will be 3 minutes Major penalties will be 7 minutes

Penalty minutes during stop time periods are as follows: Minor penalties 2 minutes Major penalties will be 5 minutes

Clock will be stopped to add the penalty minutes to the clock and will be started at the next puck drop during run time play.

All penalty minutes will be added as stop time minutes in the case of a tie breaker.

Ice will be cleaned after every 2 periods (i.e. after the 2nd period of game 1 and after the 1st and 3rd periods of game 2…).

There will be a 2 minute, on ice, break between periods when the ice is not being cleaned.

5 minutes for teams to shake hands and for presentation of game awards.

3. Points will be awarded in the following manner: 3 points for a win, 2 point for a tie, 1 point for a loss. In case of a tie in total

points at the end of the round robin play, the tie breaker will be as follows: 1: Head to Head game result. 2: Least amount of penalty minutes (penalty minutes will be added as stop time minutes not run time minutes). 3: Lowest goals against. 4: Coin Toss.

Coaches: Reminder that runaway scores are not an advantage in tie breaker situations. Keep games within reason so we don’t have to short cut your games.

Respect your opponents!

Final Games:

4. Final games will consist of two 20 minute run time periods and one 20 minute stop time period. With a flood every second period.

In the case of a tie in the final game(s), there will be a 5 minute overtime run time period of 4 on 4. You can only change on the fly and not during a whistle stop. In the event we are still tied, there will be a 3 person shootout followed be a single person shootout. No repeat shooters allowed. Must go through your entire roster. Players serving a penalty at the end of the overtime period will not be eligible to shoot as one of the first 3 shooters. They are allowed to shoot in the singles portion of the shootout.

5. Jersey colors are: Home –white and Away-dark.

6. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to shorten game times in order to keep the games within the game times allotted.

Conduct1. Hockey Canada Fair Play Code will be followed by all tournament participants.2. New Sarepta Minor Hockey Association supports a zero tolerance policy. Any abuse

directed toward officials, players or coaches will not be tolerated and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken against the individual(s) involved.

3. Coaches and Managers are responsible for the conduct of their team and team supporters.

AwardsGame: Most Valuable Player - One per team, selected by the team’s own coaching staff. Heart and Hustle award - One per team, selected by the team’s own coaching staff.

Mercy RuleIf a team is leading a game by 5 or more goals at any point after the start of the 3rd period, the remaining time will be played as straight time. If the team behind comes to within two goals of the team ahead, stop time will resume for the remainder of the game.

Hello Managers,

Once you arrive at the tournament for your first game your tournament package will be in the dressing room. Inside you will find a copy of the rules and regulations of the tournament, free coffee for the coaches, tickets for the players draw which will have to be filled out and dropped in our players draw box and a gift card for the manager. We have hotdogs for the kids on Saturday which will be delivered to your dressing room after your game beginning after game # 6 is complete. Following your first game you may leave your equipment in the dressing room for your second game on Saturday only. (ie. Frog Lake will have dressing room 3 for both their games on Saturda, ect….)
