INTRODUCTION

Running is one of Manipal most popular sporting and leisure activities. One of the reasons for its

popularity is that it is highly promoted students activity with considerable health benefits.Another reason for the popularity of running may be the fact that there are few costs associated

with the sport in terms of necessary equipment and membership of clubs, with the only real

requirement a pair of running shoes. Additional factors such as the ability to participate at any

time without the worry of scheduled organized events may also add to the sport’s popularity.

Recreational oggers are not restricted by age or se! barriers. "oggers may also participate for

competitive reasons, as a source of rela!ation, for personal fitness and self#esteem, as a social

activity, as a time to be alone or simply because they en oy spending time outdoors.

How you organize your team?

$ organized the team by helping the members of our group to cooperate with each other and

understand what to do in order to ma%e the event successful. $ also helped by ma%ing more

meetings with the members so that we can have a marathon that is acceptable to all participants.

Moreover, $ also helped to manage the number of participants and involved the members into

ma%ing good decisions with the map and how it should be done .

How you lead your team?

$ lead the team by e!ample so as to show how to get as many participants as possible. $

encouraged members in my group to get students to participate and ma%e this event to be better

%nown around the university .

How you build teamwork?

&eamwor% was built over time as we got to %now each other through more meetings and some

informal meeting as well. 'ach member played his ( her role for the event to ma%e it successful

and organized more meeting. My way out, $ used to %now each member so that we can build

trust and understand one another more clearly.

How your teamwork made decisions and why your team lost? hat went right and wrong?

Our decisions was based on the )%m marathon that included both boys and girls and we %new

that there will be some in uries so we came prepared with a medical team and a car will befollowing all the participants if they get in ured or run the wrong path.

Our team made a good decision on collaborating with the *elf#development group to ma%e this

event a grand one. &he participants were informed of the rules with a map as shown to everyone

and all the rules were given clearly and crisply.

&here many things that went wrong, during the marathon the participants ran a shorter distance

than what was e!pected and in doing so, everyone followed that way crossing only one

chec%point. +owever, some participants crossed two chec%points but by the time they came they

were too late as the first -was already %nown. &his caused a chaos among participants and more

so some cheated by not even running uphill at all and these made everyone frustrated as how the

event was organized.
