The department of Biomedical Instrumenta�on Engineering was established in 1996
and offers B.E. in Biomedical Instrumenta�on, M.E. in Medical Electronics and Ph.D
programme. The department has benefi�ed from linkages with mul�-specialty hospitals in
the region. MoUs have been signed with leading hospitals and industries to help students
gain prac�cal knowledge. The department has established AVIN-NI LabVIEW academy and is
authorized by M/s. Na�onal Instruments to provide training for in-house students as well as
students from other ins�tu�ons. The faculty u�lize this facility for research and academics.
This academy imparts global competency to students going abroad for higher educa�on.

The department of Civil Engineering was established in 2012 and offers B.E in Civil Engineering and
also Ph.D. programme. The department is ac�vely involved in research ac�vi�es in the field of Structural
Engineering, Construc�on Management, Green Buildings, Energy and Environmental Engineering. The
department has a CSIR sponsored Research Lab catering to the needs of research and undergraduate
students. Faculty have also filed Patent for their innova�ve work. Civil Engineers are the need of the hour as
several infrastructure projects both in Public and private sectors are going on and also planned for the next
decade. The department is striving hard to prepare the Nextgen Engineers with knowledge of new
technologies and modern tools.

Engineering, Avinashilingam Deemed University is

(NPC), New Delhi since June 2011. CPC unit in
School of Engineering conducts awareness, guest
lectures and training programmes to the students

ICT Academy:
Science and Higher Educa�on for women has
signed an MoU with Informa�on Communica�on
Technology Academy. As per this MoU, University
has become the Associate Nodal Ins�tute of ICT

Computer Society of India (CSI):
Society of India (CSI) is a non-profit professional
meet to exchange views and informa�on learn and
share ideas. CSI Student Branch was started in

Bachelors’ degree or equivalent in the relevant field with at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate
belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying Examina�on. Those who are awai�ng the results of their
qualifying examina�ons will also be eligible to apply.
Candidates as men�oned in sec�on above will be required to qualify in the Entrance Test conducted by
the competent authority. The candidates should compulsorily produce their marksheets at the �me of
Interview.
Admission Procedure for M.E
Selec�on will be based on marks in B.E / B.Tech. equivalent and an entrance examina�on conducted by
Avinashilingam University and a personal interview.

2. The students admi�ed to Integrated M.E. will have to complete three elec�ves offered for M.E.
(IOT) during the seventh semester and three elec�ves offered during the eighth semester in

ntrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) Ewas established under AICTE/RIFD/EDC
scheme 2010-11, with an outlay of
Rs.7.05 lakhs. The aim of the cell is to create
innova�ve technology entrepreneurs of high order in
Higher Educa�on Ins�tu�ons and to include
Entrepreneurship as well as Innova�on as part of the
Science and Technology Programmes.
As per the MHRD mandate the youngsters
should become job providers rather than job seekers
through their innova�ve ideas. The EDC provides
ample opportuni�es to learn by doing through skill
development programmes and understand the
concept of Entrepreneurship in all programmes
through Awareness camps. Faculty members from
every department are trained in Entrepreneurship by

ntrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) Ewas established under AICTE/RIFD/EDC
scheme 2010-11, with an outlay of
Rs.7.05 lakhs. The aim of the cell is to create
innova�ve technology entrepreneurs of high order in
Higher Educa�on Ins�tu�ons and to include
Entrepreneurship as well as Innova�on as part of the
Science and Technology Programmes.
As per the MHRD mandate the youngsters
should become job providers rather than job seekers
through their innova�ve ideas. The EDC provides
ample opportuni�es to learn by doing through skill
development programmes and understand the
concept of Entrepreneurship in all programmes
through Awareness camps. Faculty members from
every department are trained in Entrepreneurship by
NSTEDB, Department of Science and Technology,
Government of India.
Ac�vi�es of the Cell
The EDC Cell encourages the students to be
aware, ideate, innovate, prototype and create
marketable solu�ons which can solve societal
problems in a cost effec�ve manner. More than 20
technology student startup ideas have emerged from
our campus and are ready to become incubates of our
Avinashi l ingam Technology Innova�on and
Incuba�on Centre (ATIBIC) a�er their gradua�on.
