Sergeant First Class Kevin Aleckna

Sergeant First Class Kevin Aleckna entered service with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard Split-Op program on February 22, 2002, and graduated as an infantryman in September 2003.

During the course of his career, SFC Aleckna held numerous duty positions, including: infantryman, 1st Battalion 109th Infantry Regiment; Operations NCOIC, 55th Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 28th ID; Task Force Steel (FWD) Liaison Officer, 1st Battalion 109th Infantry Regiment (CAB); Special Operations Forces Liaison Element, Special Operations Joint Task Force – Afghanistan; Saber Strike 18 (Lithuania) Project Officer, United States Army Europe; Senior Enlisted Advisor Area Support Group – Poland, 21st Theater Sustainment Command.

SFC Aleckna also served in multiple leadership roles in support of the Global War on Terrorism combat operations, two tours Operation Iraqi Freedom; two tours Operations Enduring Freedom; and one tour Operation Freedom Sentinel

SFC Aleckna’s military education and training includes: Senior Leader’s Course; Basic Non-Commissioned Officer’s Course; Warrior Leader’s Course; and Infantry Basic Course.

Military awards include Bronze Star Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (4th oak leaf cluster), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (3rd oak leaf cluster), Navy Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Iraqi Freedom and Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, NATO ISAF Medal, and the Combat Infantryman’s Badge.
