Emergency School Closure—Regional Information Reminder
The Grade 7 students held a Valentine fundraiser for Together Building Africa by selling candy grams, bath balms and setting up a photo booth. We were able to raise $340 for the organization. Great job Grade 7s! Thank you to Beausejour Bath Balm Company for donating the bath balms.
Thank you to Megan Cyr, the setter of Team Canada Volleyball, for visiting ÉESS and sharing her journey with middle years students. She also shared her skills and expertise on the court with the Grade 7 to JV volleyball girls. Good luck to Megan & Team Canada Volleyball in the upcoming Olympic qualifiers.

Congratulations to the Varsity Girls Curling team who captured the MHSAA Provincial Championship Feb. 21-23 in Swan Lake! The team went through the season undefeated, including 6 straight wins at Provincials. In A-side competi-tion they were in total control, including the final where they beat the Prairie Mountain host team 6-3. On the B-side they showed true character beating a strong team from Miles Mac in the semi-final. They once again came from be-hind in the B final scoring 3 in the 8th end and then stealing 3 in the extra end on a last rock double takeout for a thrill-ing 9-6 victory over the host team to capture their second Provincial Championship in the past three years. Earlier in the season, the team was dominant in capturing their 7th consecutive Zone 13 banner as well as the SAC banner. Con-gratulations to Brianna Cullen, Julia Millan, Morgan Maguet, Beth Wielgosh and Maddy Schirle on a stellar season! In boy’s action, the Varsity Boys Curling team was undefeated in capturing the SAC banner Jan. 17. In zone action Feb. 7 & 8, the boys suffered a disappointing loss in the A side final but came up big on the second day to beat a solid Gabri-elle Roy team twice to qualify for Provincials. They put in a very strong showing at Provincials finishing with a record of 3 and 2, including a victory over last year’s runner up, Garden Valley. The boys gave Gimli everything they could han-dle in the B side semi-final but were eliminated by a very strong team who went on to repeat as champions. Congratu-lations to Brayden Ewasko, Ryan Buss, Davin Meyer, Kade Buss and Carter Ramsden on a great season! Both teams are looking forward to being host teams at the 2020 Provincials to be held in Beausejour. The teams would like to thank Beausejour Curling Club, Co-op Foods, ÉESS Senior Student Council, ÉESS and Sunrise School Division for their support.
