Feature Presentation: The Archaeology and History of the foundations for the Knights of St. JohnThe various orders of the Hospitallers especially the Order of St. John laid the foundations for hospitals, ambulatory care and first aid. But before the Knights of St. John and the many other orders or knights that were established during the crusades the concepts and principles of these orders already existed. The archaeology and history of these foundations will be presented along with the early establishment of the Order of St. John. Professor Carney Matheson is trained as an archaeologist, ancient historian and biochemist. An unusual combination for the study of the past. Also a member of St John Ambulance and had the privileged to be a member of two Priories, Australia and Canada.

The St. John Council for Ontario is pleased to announce the program for the 2015 Provincial Conference.

This year the conference will offer unique opportunities to learn about new initiatives and share ideas to continue to improve St. John Ambulance’s ability to provide vital health and safety programs, products and services in Ontario. We are thrilled with our calibre of speakers and presenters and know you will be exposed to new techniques, skills and learning.

DAILY SCHEDULE

Please note that session times on Friday are: 8:45AM - 5:00PM, session times on Saturday: 9:00AM – 5:15PM Registration time is 7:30AM - 8:45AM on Friday, 7:30AM-9:00AM on Saturday

Catering ProvidedConference participants will be provided with the following: • Continental Breakfast - Fri - Sat • Morning & Afternoon Coffee Breaks • Awards Banquet Dinner- Fri (Partial delegate contribution required) • Lunch - Fri - Sat

St. John Ambulance preferred vendors and exhibitors will be on site, during networking breaks and lunch breaks.

ONTARIO COUNCIL AWARDS BANQUET

On Friday a Reception (cash bar) will be available prior to a Dinner, at 5:30PM-6:15PM. Dinner (cash bar) and Council Awards Banquet will be offered for all participants, from 6:15PM – 9:15PM. The cost of the dinner is being partially subsidized by Council. Participant cost is $45.00 per person. Payment must be submitted with your registration form.

TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATION

Participants will be responsible for their own travel and accommodation arrangements. A block of rooms at the Delta Meadowvale Hotel & Conference Centre; 6750 Mississauga Road, Mississauga, Ontario has been temporarily held and guaranteed under a preferred rate for St. John until Friday March 13th, 2015.
