COLLEGE OF SURGEONS MEDICAL STUDENTS SURGICAL SKILLS WORKSHOP AND COMPETITION
Course Convenors: Hanafiah Harunarashid P Kandasami
Following the overwhelming success of the inaugural workshop and competition last year, this year CSAMM will continue to organise a surgical skills competition among medical students from the medical schools in Malaysia in conjunction with its Annual Scientific Meeting in May 2014. This nationwide competition will give aspiring surgeons in their senior years of medical studies an opportunity to learn and compete in a range of surgical challenges, from suturing and knot-tying to performing some common procedures expected of a newly graduated resident doctor.
There will be concept lectures and bench work demonstrations from experienced surgeons before the competition begins.
Qualifying rounds for the competition will take place in the Advanced Surgical Skills laboratory of the UKM Medical Centre, from January to March 2014, with the finals scheduled in April 2014.
Prizes will be awarded to the winners of the competition at the Gala Dinner in May 2014.
Registrations are now open to all medical students from Malaysian medical schools in their final years of study. A registration fee of RM100 is to be made payable to:
