DAY 1 – Arrive OregonArrive in Portland, Oregon today. Meet your fellow travelers at 6:00p.m. for a welcome dinner hosted by your Tour Manager. Meal: D

DAY 2 – Timberline Lodge and Mount HoodWe depart Portland and make our way through Mount Hood Na-tional Forest to the south slope of Mount Hood. Making our way to6000 feet we come to the spectacular Timberline Lodge, one of Ore-gon’s most popular attractions. Considered an architectural wonder,Timberline was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1977.Take in the amazing views while enjoying lunch at this mountainlodge. Meals: B, L

DAY 3 – Portland Touring and Board the American PrideToday we get to know Portland on a narrated city tour. Situated be-tween the waters of the Columbia and Willamette Rivers, Portland’shistory is forever entwined with the fortunes of the great rivers. Inthe golden age of riverboats, sternwheelers crossed Portland’s water-front while steam whistles and calliopes rang out across the water.Today, highlights include the International Rose Test Garden and thefamous Powell’s Bookstore, filling an entire city block. Later, weboard the American Pride, and settle in with one of many deliciousdinners on board. Meals: B, D

DAY 4 – Fort Astoria and the Lewis and Clark TrailOur first day of cruising brings us to Astoria. A nationally significanthistoric region at the western end of the Lewis & Clark Trail, Astoriais the oldest American settlement west of the Rockies. In the winterof 1805-06, the Lewis & Clark Corps of Discovery Expedition washeadquartered at Fort Clatsop. In 1955, a replica of the fort was builtnear the original site and was eventually named a National Monu-ment. With its steep hills and beautiful Victorian homes, Astoria hasbeen called the “Little San Francisco of the Pacific Northwest” andhas a revitalized downtown ideal for shopping and dining. Fort Astoria, the oldest American settlement west of the Rockies Visit the spectacular Columbia River Gorge and see Multnomah Falls

DAY 5 – Mount St. Helens, WashingtonContinuing up the river we disembark today for an excursion to seeMount St. Helens. Perhaps the most impactful of all landmarks inthe region is Mount St. Helens. From high on an overlook, bear wit-ness to the awesome power of the volcano whose eruption in 1980scorched 230 square miles of forest land and forever changed thelandscape. Expert guides will show you the pumice plain and lavadome as they explain the effect the volcano had on the lives of thosein the surrounding towns. Meals: B, L, D

DAY 6 – Columbia River Gorge and Multnomah FallsToday we cruise the spectacular Columbia River Gorge, a rivercanyon cutting the only sea-level route through the Cascade Moun-tain Range. A popular recreational destination, the gorge holds fed-erally protected status as a National Scenic Area. The cliffs of thegorge look down on quaint riverfront towns and exhilarating water-falls, such as beautiful Multnomah Falls. We also pay a visit to im-pressive Bonneville Dam and learn the engineering details of itsdesign and construction. Meals: B, L, D

DAY 7 – The Dalles, OregonLocated in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, betweenMt. Hood and Mt. Adams, on the south bank, The Dalles is a perfectphotographic spot. Discover the area where Lewis & Clark campedat Rock Fort Camp during their historic journey to explore theLouisiana Purchase territory in 1805-1806. Visit the ColumbiaGorge Discovery Center and see the unique raptor exhibition wherethe birds of prey put on an aerobatic display. Meals: B, L, D

DAY 8 – Pendleton, Oregon and Richland, WashingtonPendleton is known for its beautiful countryside, indigenous NativeAmerican tribes and network of underground tunnels created a cen-tury ago for illicit activities. The area is also famous for its lucrativewool trade in the 18th and 19th centuries. Looking through the lens

of The Hanford Reach National Monument and the Columbia Riveris the Reach Museum in Richland which tells the rich and fascinat-ing stories of the culture and history of the region through engagingexhibits, artifacts and tours. Meals: B, L, D

DAY 9 – Hells Canyon and Perce National Historic ParkThe twin cities of Lewiston, ID and Clarkston, WA, are known asthe Northwest’s most inland seaports. Along the Snake River you’llfind Hells Canyon, the deepest canyon in North America. We’llclimb aboard a Jet Boat for an exhilarating ride through the canyonknown for its pristine scenery and thriving wildlife. Meals: B, L, D

DAY 10 – Disembark and Transfer to Spokane, WashingtonAfter breakfast we disembark the American Pride in Clarkston,Washington and transfer to the Spokane Airport for flights out after12:00 p.m. Meal: B
