This means that when a new component is being developed, for instance, the relevant high-performance process can also be taken into consideration right from a very early stage. Working together right from the outset is an excellent way of pooling and synergising both partners’ knowledge, and makes for superlative results.

High-performance welding is possible for many very diverse applications. Each of these processes can be used just as effectively for light-gauge sheets as for plates, and for steel as for chrome-nickel or aluminium.

当激光束的功率密度超过临界值时(≈ 106 W/cm2),材料会急剧加热,不仅在表面熔化,而且会产生汽化。

If the power density of the laser beam exceeds the critical threshold (≈106 W/cm2), the material will heat up so intensely that it not only melts at the surface but also vaporizes.

When the laser welding head moves relative to the work piece, the keyhole moves with it under the focused laser beam. Behind the laser beam, the melted materials mix with one another. Once melted and mixed, the material begins to cool, and the weld solidifies into a narrow seam.

The formation of the keyhole is a phenomenon that is associated with deep welding. A much greater seam depth can be achieved using this method than with heat conduction welding . In addition, the high laser output produced during welding enables an absorption level of up to 90%.

The vaporization of the material and the pressure of the dissipating metal vapor causes a vapor channel, or “keyhole”, to be formed in the work piece. Depending on the laser power, the keyhole can extend several millimeters into the material.
