“Come to Me all you who labor” . . . Come to hear more clearly God’s call and to receive God’s loving grace. Ten thousand people a year take time away to pause and to “Come” to the Jesuit Spiritual Center. They come for spiritual renewal and to be refreshed that they might go forth and live the “Good News.”

This past year I had the opportunity to meet a wonderful woman who shared this experience with me. She had gotten wrapped up in the stresses of meeting the demands of her engineering career. And so, she decided to put her career on hold for a year. It wasn’t to search for adventure, or to pursue fun things, but to ground herself spiritually. Her brother, who was familiar with the Jesuits, suggested she make a Jesuit retreat, which she subsequently did for seven days at the Jesuit Spiritual Center. It was a Personally Directed Retreat, and it was an “investment,” she told me later, that she will cherish forever.

Yes, many people go in for the finer things of clothing, cars, houses, and more; but I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, our benefactors, for helping others “invest” in that which is so much more important – the spiritual side of life.

Many “Come” to us through our retreat offerings. This year alone we are sponsoring four homeless retreats, three recovery retreats, retreats for victims of domestic violence along with our Conference Retreats, Personally Directed Retreats, 30-Day Retreats, Youth Retreats, Women’s Retreats, Days of Prayer for the Elderly, and our Advent and Lenten programs – to name just some.

It’s our goal to grow our programs while at the same time keeping them affordable. This is only possible through your generous financial gifts to our Annual Fund. On behalf of all the retreatants and staff at the Jesuit Spiritual Center, I thank you for your 2014-2015 contributions – they truly made a difference in the lives of others.

I ask our God to “Come to You” to fill your heart with loving grace for all you do for others, and to bless you and your family abundantly.

A Message from our Executive Director

Just wanted to let you know that we had a beautiful women’s retreat at the Jesuit Spiritual Center last weekend. Our attendees loved the setting – the peace, the quiet, the natural beauty, the river. It

just naturally draws a person closer to God.

The Jesuit Spiritual Center is a little piece of Heaven on this wild and busy earth, just walking the grounds gives you this

wonderful serene feeling of peacefulness and you can actually feel God’s presence all around you. We even got to meet one of God’s critters, your ground hog, I don’t think he has ever meet a stranger, he was so tame and friendly.

Thank you and your staff for your warm, welcoming hospitality during our recent

retreat. As many of the men attend-ing this retreat noted on their eval-uations, the Jesuit Spiritual Center did help them to feel that God is or could be a presence in their lives.

Thank you for a wonderful week! Your staff went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a very enjoy-able and prayerful retreat. They have always made us

feel at home. From bringing us corn hole, to adjusting the temperature of one of the showers, above and beyond.

If we could all stop for a few days and reflect (as we did this weekend) on what God is truly

offering us, this world would be a wonderfully peaceful place where we could all live in harmony with each other.

I wasn’t very close to God before this retreat and I really realized that God is always there and

during my silent reflection I really connected with him and our rela-tionship will continue to grow.

After spending the whole day with God and my peers, I realized what

goes on around me and realized how much God gives me.

I enjoyed the silent retreat. Just spending time, God and I. I found it very helpful, meaningful

and peaceful. It is a good place to search for God .
