We offer a broad range of high-release coatings for commercial bakeware. You cancombine different products to suit your needs. For example, we offer:

• Conventional and reinforced liquid coatings• High-build liquid and powder coatings• Single and multicoat systems• Waterborne and solvent-borne coatings• Coatings that are easier to strip and recoat• Environmentally friendly, NMP-free coatings • Coatings for various substrates (e.g., aluminium, aluminized steel, cast iron, cast aluminium, stainless)

Whitford offers coating systems designed fordifferent specifications such as:

• Longer-lasting release• Thinner or thicker coatings• Smoother, glossier finish• Abrasion resistance• High-sugar-content baked goods• Seeded baked goods• Colour coding for different applications Typical applications include bread straps,

baguettes, waffles, croissants, cookies, cakes, pies, buns, biscuits, pizzas, tortillas. Please seethe reverse for more information.

Fluoropolymer liquids: midcoats and topcoatsXylan XLR 17-353: (Xtra Long-lasting Release).Waterborne dispersion with highest initial andlongest-lasting release of all systems. Superbsmoothness and gloss, with improved hardness andresistance to permeation. Available in several coloursand designed for conventional spray application;should be used over Xylan 17-080 or 17-180 primers. Xylan XLR HB: A high-build version of Xylan XLR thatcan achieve thicknesses up to 60µm in one bakingcycle.High-build PFA Dispersion (Xylan 80-610): High-buildPFA dispersion providing film builds up to 60 microns.Waterborne coating designed for conventional sprayapplication together with Xylan 80-178 primer. Mayalso be applied over a powder midcoat. A reinforcedversion is also available.High-build FEP Dispersion (Xylan 80-650): Waterborne,un-pigmented, high-build FEP dispersion designedfor conventional spray application. Can be appliedover Xylan 80-178 primer and a standard-build FEP(Xylan 1756) midcoat. May be applied over a powdermidcoat. This system can be used when powder isnot an option or when the Faraday Cage Effect pre-vents achieving recommended film build in deepertrays. An attractive sparkle version that improves visibility during application is available too.

Fluoropolymer liquids: primersXylan 17-080: Black waterborne primer for use withXylan XLR. Xylan 17-180: Black waterborne primer for use withXylan XLR HB.Xylan 80-018: Solvent-borne primer for use with powder and dispersion systems for high-end applica-tions. Designed for conventional spray application.Available in a range of colours. Xylan 80-087: Black waterborne primer for use withall powder topcoats. Environmentally friendly system

designed for conventional spray application.Xylan 80-178: Solvent-borne primer for use with powder and dispersion topcoats. Facilitates higherfilm builds. Designed for conventional spray applica-tion. Available in a range of colours.Xylan 4018: Solvent-borne primer for use with powder topcoats. Available in a range of colours.

Fluoropolymer liquid: single-coatXylan 8840: Solvent-borne, fluoropolymer-based system offering good release characteristics.

Powders Xylan 80-510: PFA powder designed for electrostaticspray applications. Provides higher temperaturecapabilities, superior toughness, and higher filmbuild.Xylan 80-550: An FEP powder topcoat providingthick film builds that result in better release andlonger life. Xylan 80-030: An electrostatic powder primer withexcellent adhesion to various substrates. An efficientand environmentally-friendly option when processedtogether with fluoropolymer powder topcoats in a single baking step.

Sol-gel (ceramics)Matrix (18-088, 18-089): These systems are used incases where temperature requirements are high andabrasion resistance is critical.

SiliconesXylan 8003: Solvent-borne silicone coating withexcellent release and resistance to staining. Easilystrippable for recoating.

ExteriorsWater- and solvent-borne systems available, depend-ing upon the customer requirements. Check with yourlocal Whitford representative for the best options foryour project.
