Biological Fertilisers

Biological fertilisers contain living

microorganisms which, when applied

to seeds, plant surfaces, or soil, colonises

the rhizosphere or the interior of the

plant and promotes growth by increasing

the supply and unlocking nutrients of

primary nutrients, such as Phosphorus,

to the plant.

Biological fertilisers add nutrients through

the natural processes of nitrogen fixation,

solubilising phosphorus, and stimulating

plant growth through the synthesis of

growth-promoting substances.

Biological fertilisers can be expected

to reduce the use of chemical fertilisers

and pesticides.

Microbe Optimisation Technology (MOT)

Starting with a chicken manure base,

Neutrog uses Microbe Optimisation

Technology (MOT) to stabilise the

nutrients, maximise nutrient availability

and ensure the composts are free from

any pathogens, parasites or weed seeds.

This includes a unique thermophilic

composting process using eNcase,

a probiotic, which is used to inoculate

the raw manure on arrival and is atomised

through the pile during the composting

process. This method achieves 40 per

cent higher diversity of bacteria in

composts than those not inoculated.

This range of beneficial bacteria also

survives the pelleting process, carried

out at composting temperature.

Certified Organic

Neutrog is granted organic certification

for specific products after its methods

and processes for manufacturing these

particular products are audited, to

ensure that they comply with the

standards and guidelines set down by

the certifying body. Certification ensures

compliance with national production

standards, including low heavy metals

and other residues, and allows for trace

back of all raw materials to their origins.

Neutrog currently has a number of

organic products including Rapid Raiser,

Bounce Back, Blade Runner and

Seamungus registered as ‘Allowed Inputs’

with Australian Certified Organic (ACO).

All of Neutrog’s products are subjected

to the same rigorous procedures.
