Held every year around Presley’s birthday (Jan. 8, 1935), Elvisfest allows Presley revelers to remember The King’s musical legacy. This year’s fes- tivities are no exception, as the bands on schedule – with musical styles ranging from rockabilly to rock and roll – will perform Presley hits, along with some of their own songs, from 7 p.m. to midnight each night. Elvisfest will be held at the University Inn at 1301 North Fordham Blvd. Tickets are $12, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Masonic Home for Children at Oxford. This two-night show is a 21-and-up affair. For a complete schedule of performances, visit elvisfest.loserville.net/ sched.php Carrboro High School’s Peter Rathmell takes it to the hoop against Raleigh Charter High.
