Believe you can make a difference Your own “random acts of kindness” don’t necessarily yhave to be anything grandiose. Sometimes the best way to change the world is to start with your own small corner.
Pay a compliment at least once a day Pay a compliment at least once a day Give another driver your parking spot Offer to return a shopping cart to the store for someone loading tier car Let the person behind you in a grocery store go ahead of you When drivers try to merge into your lane, let them with a wave and a smile Open the door for another person Bring your coworkers a special treat Bring your coworkers a special treat Call or visit a homebound person Say something nice to everyone you meet today Shovel someone’s sidewalk Send home a note telling parents something their child did well Tell your children why you love them W it t t f il t lli th h th i l Write a note to your family telling them why they are special Tell your boss that you think she/he does a good job Tell your employees how much you appreciate their work Let your staff leave work an hour early Laugh out loud often and share your smile generously!
Do any of the above and in addition to brightening someone else’s day, you’ll brighten your own. Embracing and believing you can make a difference is an essential component of community leadership.
