of New Climate Change Negotiations
PROJECT OVERVIEW
From the 26th to 31st of May 2015, five
students from Tsinghua University will
represent China to participate in a
global climate negotiation simulations,
called “Paris Climate 2015: Make It
Work”, organized by Sciences Po, to
prepare for the 21st session of the
Conference of the Parties to the
UNFCCC (CIO21) held in December
2015, in Paris, France. This is an
unprecedented experiment to involve
the public, especially the youth, in the
negotiations of climate change.
The project aims to achieve three goals:
To create and experiment with
possible alternative forms of climate
negotiations;
To convey the message of the youth
to COP21;
To offer a dynamic educational and
scientific training opportunity for
students.

APPLICATION
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
PARTICIPANTS
200 students forms 40 delegations of 5 students each, with
the following compositions:
− 100 students from Sciences Po;
− 50 students from international partner universities
(including Tsinghua);
− 50 students from other universities within France
Highlights
− An experimental and even utopian framework;
− Unconventional tools such as theater, cinema and the
visual arts;
− Engagement with the public, the negotiators, the media
and civil society;
− New and innovative instruments to visualize the
geopolitical challenges the and climate change issue
Objectives
− Changing the way of negotiating;
− Reinventing the concept of representation;
− Democratize negotiations
QUALIFICATIONS
Open to all Tsinghua Chinese students of
all majors
MATERIALS
− English proficiency certificate
(preferred);
− Application form (as designated)
− CV or resume
DEADLINE: March 1, 2015
ALL costs will be covered, except
personal expenses that are not
mandatory for participation in the
project.
The Tsinghua team will represent Chinese
students’ voices, engage with counterparts
from all over the world, and bring back
innovative ways of climate change
negotiations .
