CLEANING GUIDE

ElectroClave can disinfect a non-porous, hard surface device achieving a 99.9% reduction
of MRSA, S. aureus, E. coli, and CRE. Prior to disinfection, devices must be pre-cleaned to
remove any accumulated debris. The ElectroClave’s UV-C LED light will not penetrate
through any built-up materials, including common salt (NaCl) left after using bleach, sand
and rock found in dirt, body fluids, and oil. Regular pre-cleaning of devices prior to disinfection
in the ElectroClave is strongly recommended. Cleaning should involve a wiping process to
remove all debris from the surface of the device. Please consult with your local infection
control practitioner for protocols on wiping device surfaces and establishing
disinfection frequency.

CLEANING & DISINFECTION
GUIDELINES FOR USE
NON-CRITICAL MEDICAL DEVICESThe ElectroClave should only be used on non-critical medical non-porous, hard surface devices. Non-critical would define any
device that comes into contact with intact skin (excluding mucous membranes). Some examples of non-critical equipment would
be phones, pagers, tablets and bar code scanners.
DEVICE ORIENTATIONIn order to maximize UV-C exposure in the ElectroClave, devices cannot be stacked on top of each other in the same disinfection
bay. If disinfecting a small device where more than one device is placed on the same disinfection shelf, there should be at least
two inches of space between the two devices. Tablets should be centered on the device shelf as accurately as possible. If you use
the USB charging feature, ensure the charging ports of the devices are facing the front door. The charge USB cable should not
drape across the glass shelf. The excess USB charging cable should be hanging in front of disinfection modules and front door.

MAINTENANCE FREQUENCY
ElectroClave’s quartz shelves should be cleaned
any time inorganic or organic matter including
fingerprints, smudges, dirt, oil, or dried fluids can
be visible on its surface. It is best to leave the quartz
shelves in the unit and use an isopropyl alcohol (IPA)
wipe 72% or greater to clean the surface. Do not
spray alcohol inside the ElectroClave™. IPA can be
applied to a microfiber cloth and the cloth can then be
used to wipe the quartz. If the quartz shelves need to
be removed in order to clean fully please refer to
section Quartz Device Shelves Installation or
contact your local dealer.
