INVESTIGATION

In this project I investigated about computer waste, its problems and how it can besolved. Computer waste is also known as E-Waste. Some of the questions I wasasking myself during the project were: What is e-waste? How can it be dealt with?

Why is e-waste dangerous? During my investigation I have discovered that e-wasteis a bigger problem then I thought. It is present in almost all countries and pollutesthe world day by day. It is one of the cause of as greenhouse gasses and globalwarming. Since e-waste is very popular these days it wasn’t hard to find the neededinformation. My main source was the internet because there is a lot of information, which is very good. I didn’t have any books or magazines at home which talked aboute-waste so internet was the best source.

The two products that we decided to make were a poster and flyer. We were dividedin groups of two, and my part was the flyer.

PLAN

Now, for my flyer I tested several different designs.

This is my first design of the flyer. I think this is the best design for my flyer because itis clean, and looks nice although the background is white. The pictures and text are

well organised and it’s easy to read. The pictures fit perfectly and you can easily seewhat’s on them.

This is the second design. Order of pictures is different in this one but I don’t like the

way it turned out. It just doesn’t fit with what I had in mind. I had to shrink the picturesso the text can fit but now they are too small and you can really see clearly what is onthem.

This is the third and the last design that I tried. This is basically the same as thesecond one but I just added a background to it. I tried many different colours and Idon’t like any of them. It is just silly with a colourful background.

1. step – find the right information2. step – find good pictures which can easily show us the problem of e-waste3. step – making of the flyer 4. step – finishing and printing

The “tool” that I used for the flyer is Microsoft Publisher, and that is all that I need.

EVALUATE

Now that I have finished the flyer I showed it to some people and they all told methey think the flyer is very nice. They said it is interesting and clearly states the

problem. They also liked the pictures. There are two things that I would change to improve the product now that it’s all over. Iwould make the flyer in Photoshop because it is a better tool than Microsoft Publisher (but for that I would need more time), and I would print it on a better paper. I also thinkthat my flyer will help people to be more alert of E-waste and will see what kind of problem it is nowadays.
