1. (a) Basic is a high level language and its two versions are QBASIC

and GWBASIC.

(b) Program area is in the editor screen where programs are written

and edited.

In immediate mode area, we can type and execute one liner Q

Basic commands and see their put immediately.

(c) Some common operations in the Q Basic editor are New for

1. (a) Internet is a network of millions of computers all over the world.

The most important application of the internet is e-mail. Some

others are website, search engines and social sites.

(b) The internet was started as ARPANET in 1969 by the American

Defence Department. Their aim was to share information on

research and development in the field of science and technology.

Later on, the department allowed universities to join the network

for sharing resources. This network began to grow and became the

internet.

(c) You need to have a multimedia computer, a modern, a telephone

landline and an internet service provider account.

(d) Whenever you open a website, the first page that appears on your

screen is called the home page and all other linking pages are web

pages.

(e) E-mail is the short form of electronic mail. Today, it has become the
