LocationLocated off the south-east coast of mainland Vietnam, the Con Dao archipelago of islands was initially settled by the British East India Company in 1702. More than 80% of the Con Dao archipelago is a marine and national park. The largest island, Con Son, which hosts Six Senses Con Dao is around 230 Kilometres or 145 miles from Ho Chi Minh City and is served by Co Ong Airport. It can be reached by commercial aircraft or chartered private plane, within 45 minutes from Ho Chi Minh City.

Six Senses Con Dao is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The villas sit along a mile of golden sand, looking out at the blue sea and curve of the bay and sheltered by darkly green forested mountains. The whole area has been protected as a nature and marine reserve for decades and its unspoilt beauty is home to many endangered and indigenous species.
The heart of the resort has been designed to resemble a traditional Vietnamese fishing village and market place. Much reclaimed teak has been used in the empathetic design, including over a thousand antique wooden panels. A wooden bridge leads across a stream to the rolling sand dunes where the villas and spa are located by the beach.

Six Senses Con Dao has 50 villas with private infinity pools. Styles range from single-level to duplex and offer one, three and four bedrooms. All villas feature stunning outdoor bathrooms. The efficient, contemporary design has included the use of natural ventilation, reducing the need for air-conditioning. The bathroom and the living area are therefore open-air and the bedroom air-conditioned for guest’s comfort.

Together with a focused commitment to the environment, the architecture of the villas enhances the spectacular natural setting. Each villa is carefully designed using timber frames and is located sensitively within the natural slope of the dunes, with fantastic views of the sea. the natural materials are warm and tactile framing at every stage the beauty of the views. Butterfly-style roofs provide light and openness and create a shaded area for the infinity pool and sundeck.
Food and BeVerage FaciLitieSThe main guest area of Six Senses Con Dao recreates a fishing village and local market. There is a deli, ‘Deli’cious, offering cold meats and cheeses, pickles and chutnies, breads and salads, a bakery with the best of the world’s patisserie - with more than a touch of influence left over from French colonial days - and fresh noodles, soups, rice, wraps and rolls, cooked over charcoal fired woks and wood fired ovens in the Vietnamese Kitchen by Ms Len and her team of Vietnamese ladies.
The main restaurant, ‘By the Beach’ is perched on top of the sand dunes between the sea and the river and offers beautiful views of the water and surrounding bay. The restaurant serves Asian Fusion and Western dishes-all simply cooked and presented, using the finest of fresh ingredients.
The wine cellar and Chef’s Table next to the beach also offer special places to dine and of course dinner can be served in guests’ villas; from simple yet delicious dishes to romantic five course dinners, to beach barbeques.
The softly curved swimming pool, beside the beach and underneath wild and mature mahogany trees is a good place to be served snacks and salads.

The Market AreaThe market area offers a small village complete with a main street and square resembling a typical village found in the Vietnamese country side. Terraces between the library and main bar allow guests to enjoy the beach views whilst experiencing the unique food and drinks on offer. Movies at the Market are screened here too.
