We use it when we imagine a situation or action.
It would be nice to buy a new car, but we can’t afford it. (Sería agradable comprar un coche nuevo, pero no podemos permitírnoslo)
I would phone Peter, but I don’t have his number. (Telefonearía a Peter, pero no tengo su número)
We form it with the auxiliary “would” and the infinitive of the main verb.
I would love to attend lessons tomorrow.
Negative. We add “not” to the auxiliary.
She wouldn’t pass the driving test if she drove more carefully.
Question and short answer:
