Teaching and Learning in the Cloud 2010 - Conference Program 2

About the ConferenceTeaching and Learning in the Cloud is a new conference for

educators in Michigan, highlighting the transition away from

desktop computers and software installers, toward mobile

platforms that follow the user wherever they are. Cloud

computing is a trend in technology that makes sense for

schools, and we want Michigans educators to be ready to

use these tools with students. This conference will show

educators how to use the growing set of cloud computing

tools and resources to support student learning and

    achievement.

Leading Schools with Digital Vision in a Bubblesheet World

AuditoriumWes FryerMuch of the world has gone digital, so much learning at schools. Creativity is vital, and good leadership

matters. Stagnant, accommodation-level technology integration makes technology investments in our schoolsa waste of money. School leaders can and should encourage teachers to use digital learning tools inransformative ways to open new doors of opportunity for students as well as parents. By focusing on

creating, communicating/sharing, and collaborating, principals can help develop a shared instructionalvocabulary with teachers which is focused on student engagement. Without creation, there can be nocreativity. How will you let your students create? How will you give students choices? How will your studentseach the curriculum? These are essential question to ask together with teachers, as wel seek to effectivelyand legally) talk with media/pictures and leverage the constructive power of digital media tools for learningnside and outside the classroom.
