S o what and how do we do MC in this new World of Order versus the World of Disorder? Come, explore, and learn with us as we seek to figure out the how
and what of MC in this new Disorderly World. In the words of Dr Laurie Gardner, “The world has changed! Getting good people and keeping them on the field is harder than ever. Many of our old methods won’t work with the new generation of workers and the changing world. We encourage each church and agency to send at least two members in order to discuss and implement new ideas.”

April 21st to 24th, 2017“On geopolitics, we still have great power rivalries, but the most relevant divide in the world will no longer be East-West, capitalist-communist. It will be the World of Order versus the World of Disorder, as environmental, sectarian and economic pressures are pulverizing weak and failed states. Every day now you read about people fleeing the World of Disorder for the World of Order. Rohingyas, a mostly Muslim group, from Myanmar and Bangladesh are trying to get into Thailand and Malaysia; Africans and Arabs are trying to cross the Mediterranean to Europe; Central American parents have sent thousands of their kids to the United States. Israel’s government has started sending letters to 45,000 Eritrean and Sudanese refugees–who walked, rode and sailed to Israel in se arch of order and work–telling them they have 30 days to accept $3,500 in cash and a one-way ticket home or to an unnamed third country in Africa or face prison, The Washington Post reported last week. Last year, the U.N.’s refugee agency said there are more displaced people worldwide – some 50 million – than at anytime since World War II.

Disorder
As the 21st-century plunges to a rushingstart to build global momentum; political, economic, security considerations are crowding out vital spiritual questions about the shape of our future. In a ‘Disorderly World’ it’s important to take time for stillness and silence, to reconnect with God, to notice His presence and make sense of what is going on in our inner world.

God is Present in Our Disorderly World! He is not playing hide ‘n’ seek. The problem is with us.
We know not where to look or what to expect. We do not seem to notice God. We need to
learn to notice that God is deeply present in our world.

‘BREATHING
ROOM
FOR MY SOUL’
Psalm 62:2The Message
T ihe invitation of the pre-conference prayer retreat is to stop and rest, to gain iencouragement and wisdom for our own spiritual journey. It is a time to listen
to God without the usual distractions. It is a timeto enter the ‘breathing room for my soul.’
Silence helps us enter the deep places of our soul that are sometimes ignored and where we can listen to God ... listen to the God who invites us to come and be still.
This will be a quiet prayer retreat with group sessions each morning and afternoon and extended times of silence for personal reflection.
