ALUM NI AWARD FOR ACHIEVEMENT
Through this award the Alumni Association seeks to encourage and reward community involvement by students of the University.
The award ;s made for achievement resulting in the improvement in the quality of l ife in a community-the University community, a community within the University, or the community generally.
Recipients must have just completed the final year of a course at the University. Up to three awards may be made each year.
The 1972 recipients are: Robert George Hay, Faculty of Biological Sciences, for his contribution to the social welfare of overseas students, with particular reference to the cultural and educational aspects. Judith Catherine Miller, Board of Vocational Studies, for her participation in the establishment of the University of New South Wales Education Extension Committee and its work at the Long Bay Prison complex. Patrick lames Wil son, Wollongong University College, for his involvement in urban development and organisation of student activities.
