End of Year Wrap Up
We began the 2020-2021 School Year with uncertainty. The
faculty and staff worked all summer on two scenarios:
Virtual Instruction and In Person Instruction. Due to the high
Covid-19 numbers in our neighborhood, the decision was
made to begin Virtually.
Our Teachers began teaching in a totally new way. Our
students began learning in a totally new way. Our parents
began supporting us in a totally new way.
We were able to give each student a Chromebook through
one of the government grants. Students, teachers, and par-
ents were now able to connect through our SJP2 Google
Classroom and our Class Dojo Systems. Our teachers held
classes and office hours daily. Our communication soared.
We also were able to provide lunch and breakfast meals at
our Food and Packet Pick Up sessions weekly.
On March 15, we were able to open our doors to the
students that wanted to attend in person. Our teachers
teach 5 days per week with the Virtual Students connected
to the classroom all day. The Milwaukee Health Department
approved our Safety Plan for our procedures, distancing and
sanitizing.
We plan to open for all of our students in the fall. We will
continue to follow the CDC and the Milwaukee Health
Department directives. We know that best laid plans can
change on a dime. We will be prepared for any changes that
are needed.
I believe we have had a successful year. SJPII School will be
graduating 39 8
th
graders on June 5 in a special liturgy.
When I think of HEROES, I now place our teachers, staff,
students, parents and you on that list. Your prayers and
support have helped us grow in our mission of FAITH +
KNOWLEDGE + SERVICE. Thank you!

Comenzamos el año escolar 2020-2021 con incertidumbre.
La facultad de la Escuela San Juan Pablo II trabajó todo el
verano en dos escenarios: instrucción virtual e instrucción
en persona. Debido a los altos números de Covid-19 en
nuestra comunidad, se tomó la decisión de comenzar
Virtualmente.
Nuestros maestros comenzaron a enseñar de una manera
totalmente nueva. Nuestros estudiantes comenzaron a
aprender de una manera totalmente nueva. Nuestros
padres comenzaron a apoyarnos de una manera totalmente
nueva.
Pudimos dar a cada estudiante un Chromebook a través
de una de las ayudas del gobierno. Los estudiantes, maes-
tros y padres ahora pudieron conectarse a través de Google
Classroom y Class Dojo. Nuestros maestros tuvieron clases
virtuales y horas de oficina a diario. La comunicación de
padres y maestros se fortaleció. Pudimos ofrecer almuerzos
y desayunos cada semana mientras recogían las tareas.
Abrimos las puertas de la escuela el 15 de marzo. Estamos
de regreso en persona cinco días a la semana con la opción
de permanecer virtual conectados al salón de clases todo
el día. El Departamento de Salud de Milwaukee aprobó
nuestro Plan de Seguridad para nuestros procedimientos,
distanciamiento y desinfección.
Planificamos abrir para todos nuestros estudiantes este
otoño. Continuaremos siguiendo las directivas del CDC y
del Departamento de Salud de Milwaukee. Sabemos que los
planes pueden cambiar en un abrir y cerrar de ojos. Estare-
mos preparados para cualquier cambio que sea necesario.
Creo que hemos tenido un año exitoso. Estaremos graduan-

Today as we celebrate Pentecost the Holy Spirit wants to
make us advocates of God’s presence to bring new life to
others, especially those who do not know the love of God in
their lives.
This month, through your gifts, the Society of St. Vincent de
Paul was able to bring the love of God to the poor by assist-
ing the SVDP meal site. Thank you!

Hoy, al celebrar Pentecostés, el Espíritu Santo quiere conver-
tirnos en defensores de la presencia de Dios para traer
nueva vida a los demás, especialmente a aquellos que no
conocen el amor de Dios en sus vidas.
Este mes, a través de sus donaciones, la Sociedad de San
Vicente de Paul pudo llevar el amor de Dios a los pobres al

TRUSTEE NOMINATIONS
ELECCIONES DE FIDEICOMISARIOS
Nomination for the positions of Trustee-Treasurer and Trus-
tee-Secretary of the Parish Corporation are now open. If you
are interested in running for either of these positions,
please talk to Fr. Michael Ignaszak. Nomination forms are
available in either sacristy or in the parish office. Signatures
of 10 registered adult parishioners who would support the
person for the position of Trustee are required. Trustees
need to be fluent in English since parish business is conduct-
ed in English. Nominations close on June 6, 2021. All nomina-
tions need to be delivered to the parish office by noon on
June 6. Elections will take place at Masses the weekend of
June 27.
