Join us each Sunday as we focus in on the major denominations of the Christian Faith, and what they believe! As a multi-denominational gathering of Christians, let’s use the summer of 2014 to examine our faith in light of the many faith traditions God affords us. And for those among us who grew up with no faith tradition...consider this your opportunity to embrace faith in Christ like you never knew it before.

Sunday, 6 July, the combined adult and children’s choirs from Oakdale Covenant Church in Chicago, Illinois will be leading us in our worship service. Oakdale is a vibrant African American church on Chicago’s south side. Their pastor, Rev. Darrell Griffin is a deeply gifted preacher and he will share in the sermon for this day. We are excited to welcome this group to Sweden! This is going to be a day of great celebration so come early and plan to be blessed beyond measure!

NOTE: This worship service will take place in the sanctuary upstairs.

Greetings from TokyoDear church family, Just a short note to say that we have landed well in Tokyo. It was an intense first week, but we received great help from members of the church. We are staying in a temporary one-room apartment above the senior pastor’s manse where Johann and Hennie live. They are so warm and hospitable and the children love them. We have found a 3 bedroom house for us to live in by the Komazawa-daigaku station. It’s a direct line, 5 stations to church. We have a playground, grocery store and big park nearby and are very happy with it. On Sunday, 25 May, Chris was installed to serve TUC as pastor. It was a moving service and ceremony. We feel very much at home in this church

already! Asher and Livia go to the nursery during the service where two lovely Philippina women look after them. We came just in time for the rainy season and Asher is very impressed with the accompanying thunder. It’s a transition to deal with the humidity and warmth. But lovely to walk out in summer clothes. We’d love to hear what is going on back “home”. Please keep us in your prayers as we continue to settle in, build relationships and as Chris prepares for the mission trip to the Philippines.Love,Hanna and Chris

After the Children’s Corner session the children leave for their age appropriate classes where they are met by our experienced staff of devoted Christians who feel led by God to work with our young ones. The children spend the remainder of the time in their classes which are aimed at their specific age, and development levels. Parents of the 2-5 year old children are asked to pick up their children in their classrooms immidately following the service.PLEASE NOTE: on Sundays July 6th & 20th and August 10th the 6-11 group will remain in church. 5

The regular youth ministry programs will be taking a break over the summer and will resume again towards the end of August. Does this mean there’s nothing going on during the summer?... No! After the first week of July there will be some fantastic youth events taking place. All youth from the age of 12 - 19 are welcome to join in to make this a special summer of fun, and good fellowship with one another. Summer Fun at Immanuel

Our regularly scheduled weekly Bible studies and fellowship events take a summer holiday but our church life goes on. When you are in town, plan to join the fun on these Wednesdays and Sundays as we seek to build up our relationship with God and others. More specific information about the films that will shown on the Reel Faith nights will be available in the Sun-day program. The Break Out learning time will be a dynamic time of video, teaching, and small group interaction as we seek to deepen our under-standing of the Christian journey. Mark these dates (pages 7-9) and plan to join us for a great time together as we enjoy the summer months together!

Plan to bring something to put on the grill for you, your family, and your friends. In addition, think about bringing a simple side dish to share with others. (Salad, chips, or a simple dessert) Our grillmasters will exercise their expertise to cook your food to order. After our grill party, we will have a fun, but meaningful “break out” learning experience.

Summer Reel Faith & Gourmet Hot Dog Night

Join us for our gourmet hot dog supper and then take your pick of the film you want to watch. On these nights we will feature a special film for children and two optional films for adults and teens. Each film will be chosen to challenge and inspire your thinking about what it means to be a Christian in the world today. Viewing time will begin at 18.15. Cost of 20kr for the meal.
