This year promises even more! If shopping isn’t your bag, check out the vintage cars, trucks and camper trailers that will be on display for those who want to explore the designs from the past. The event also includes some great entertainment with local musicians playing in the amphitheater area against the bluffs in Blowing Springs Park. The picnic area surrounding the amphitheater is the place to chill and enjoy the music, grab some food, and take a break from shopping. The Kids Fun Zone is not to be missed. It will include a Halloween inspired photo-op perfect for the whole family and pumpkin painting for the kids. And did we mention the life size game of Operation? Try your skill at removing the funny bone and win a prize. Limited parking will be available at Blowing Springs Park with overflow parking offered nearby. Shuttles from the parking lots to the event site will be provided. Flea in the Park is held on October 12 from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. and October 13 from 9 a.m.–2 p.m. with free admission and parking. Fall Clinics (September–November)LPGA Golf 101We recognize that women are not one size fits all, which is why this intro to Golf Program – conducted by Women for Women, follows the overall student-centered LPGA Integrated Performance System to guide you through a comprehensive “Welcome to Golf” 6-week program for new or relatively new female golfers. Through this LPGA program you will take your first step in your journey to learn, play and enjoy the game of golf. Sporting News & UpdatesBasic Pistol ClassThis course is designed with beginners in mind and will teach the fundamental skills and knowledge necessary for responsibly owning and operating a pistol. Participants will learn about gun safety, pistol parts and operation, ammunition types and will lay the foundations for safe and accurate shooting. Concealed Carry ClassConcealed carry courses are four hours of classroom time followed immediately by a live fire qualification at the pistol range. The course is designed for those who have experience with firearms and focuses on the laws and procedures one needs to know to apply for a concealed carry permit for the state of Arkansas. This course also meets the requirements for persons that need to renew a permit with the state or transfer a permit from another state. Arkansas Enhanced Concealed Carry ClassReintroduces students to the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for owning and using a handgun for personal protection. Address the responsibilities of carrying a handgun in populated and volatile areas. Students will learn how to correctly and responsibly interact with law enforcement and the general public. This course will also teach what to do when confronted with an active shooting situation and Arkansas Laws pertaining to carrying a concealed handgun. There will be something for everyone at this family friendly event. The event runs Saturday 9 a.m.–5 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m.–2 p.m. Admission is free! If you’re a vendor who specializes in vintage furniture, junk, upcycled materials or are an artisan food vendor – spots may still be available. 10ʹx10ʹ spaces are $50. 10ʹx20ʹ spaces are $90 or 20ʹx20ʹ for $120. Fitness Classes Returning Soon to Metfield Indoor Cycling Class • Indoor cycling class is an interval style class based on cycling drills and set to energetic music. Classes are held Monday & Wednesday evenings from 5:45–6:30 p.m. starting September 16 at Metfield Clubhouse Fitness Center. On Wednesday evenings, an optional core strength floor exercise phase is offered after cycling. Note: This is a high intensity cycling class and is not recommended for those who may need to start with building a basic level of fitness. Each class can accommodate 10 participants (first-come, first-served) and pre-registration for each class is suggested by calling the Metfield Clubhouse at (479) 855-8165. Classes are just $4 each or a punch from a 10-class Universal Fitness punch card, (additional facility charge of $2.50 without a POA Photo ID). Fit Blast – High intensity fitness class • This class is a boot camp style workout. The highly intense, interval style workout, will challenge the status quo your body knows. Includes cardio blasts, core work, sports inspired drills and functional bodyweight training. The class is led by Certified Personal Trainer, Carrie Hatfield. Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:15–7 p.m. starting September 17 at Metfield Clubhouse. Calling all Paws for the Dog Days of Summer, September 21 Our four legged friends are taking over the Kingsdale Pools on Saturday, September 21 from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. and all proceeds help support the Bella Vista Animal Shelter. The pool chemicals will be removed from the water making it safe for your furry friends and no humans will be allowed to swim with their dogs. The event includes activities, giveaways and of course hot dogs! Note: All dogs must be up-to-date on their vaccinations. Admission is just $10 per dog.

Branchwood Water Fitness Classes to Resume September 16 Water Fitness and Power H2O classes will resume at Branchwood Recreation Center the week of September 16 after being held outdoors during the summer months.

Water Fitness Mon/Wed/Fri • 10–10:55 a.m.Water Fitness class is included in Silver Sneakers & Silver & Fit memberships. All others, cost is $4 or a punch off a 10-class Universal Fitness punch card with POA photo ID. Without photo ID, you must also pay $2.50 facility fee.

Yoga Class Offered Evenings at Riordan Hall Yoga is offered at Riordan Hall on Monday & Wednesday evenings at 6:15 p.m. You will be led through a series of poses that will help strengthen your body while unwinding and restoring peace to the mind, body and spirit. This workout is perfect for anyone with prior yoga experience. With a warm up and final relaxation phase, the class emphasizes the mind-body connection for improved physical, emotional and spiritual wellness. Please bring your yoga mat, blocks and water bottle. This class is led by certified instructor Amber Edwards. Classes are just $4 each or a punch from a 10-class Universal Fitness punch card, (additional facility charge of $2.50 without a POA Photo ID).

Tai Chi 6-week Class Sessions Begin in September Tai Chi Form • Monday at 5:30 p.m. beginning September 16 at Metfield Clubhouse. Learn Tai Chi form and train with focus on basic movement and health benefits. Tai Chi Form is open to advance levels with moderate difficulty level. A free demo class will be offered Monday, September 9 beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tai Chi Form – Advanced • Monday at 6:30 p.m. beginning September 16 at Metfield Clubhouse. Tai Chi Form – Advanced is open to all with previous martial arts experience and have completed the beginner Tai Chi class. The level is moderate to difficult. Register for either Metfield class session at Metfield Clubhouse, 3 Euston Rd, or telephone (479) 855-8165. Tai Chi for Balance • Wednesday at 4 p.m. beginning September 18 at Branchwood Recreation Center. This class is open to all levels and appropriate for seniors with no pressure to memorize form. Tai Chi poses and movements for better balance and health will be introduced and practiced. Register for this 6-week class session at Branchwood, 222 Glasgow Rd., or telephone (479) 855-8181. A free demo class will be offered Wednesday, September 11 beginning at 4 p.m. Cost for any of the above Tai Chi class sessions to POA Members is $54 and guests $65 per 6-week class session. A maximum of 32 students are accepted, with a minimum of 8 students required. These classes are brought to you by Erik Hardin, L.
