FIRM OVERVIEW

ASTRIK International Ltd is an experienced, privately owned Engineering Consulting

Company with its office based in Kimironko, City of Kigali, Rwanda. Since its incorporation in

January 2014, the Company has entered into partnerships with highly recognized International

Organizations/Institutions, which operate at the forefront of technical excellence in developing

infrastructure solutions around the world.

ASTRIK has been at service to different Clients/Employers in Rwanda and the Region and has

Institutions to provide specialized technology skills in consulting services and providing backup

to the National Professional Staff for project quality management.

ASTRIK QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

We maintain the highest standards in consultancy services during all phases of the project

management (i.e. feasibility, technical design, procurement, monitoring and supervision,

performance and maintenance). We recommend appropriate solutions on Rwandan Made products

which are technically sound and economical viable. We place our end-user first and perform

stakeholder’s consultations and improve services for Client satisfaction. The adopted Quality

Management System comprises of a sustainable cycle with various input activities applied

professionally by the ASTRIK Management.

CODE OF ETHICS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL, HEALTH

AND SAFETY

ASTRIK has extensive experience of managing assignments in accordance with rigorous

environmental, social, health and safety requirements. The majority of the company’s projects

have been implemented within Rwanda which has a well-regulated environmental, social, labour,

health and safety legislative framework.

The company has experience of working on World Bank, AfDB and other donor financed

assignments, which also require that projects be implemented in accordance with strict health,

safety and environmental procedures.

The company has developed a Code of Ethics for Environmental, Social, Health and Safety to be

adhered to by the Key and non-key Staff while carrying out the assignments from planning,

Narrative Description of Project:

The World Bank has introduced new model on feeder roads execution project in Rwanda under

Output and Performance-based Contracting for Roads (OPRC) which is aimed at increase the

efficiency and effectiveness of road asset management and maintenance. The Contractors were

responsible for carryout design –build and multi-year maintenance (DBM). The Consultant

assignment was to review contractor’s design, management plans and Monitoring and Supervision of

construction works for rehabilitation, and upgrading earth feeder roads to a paved and gravel

standard. Supervision also includes the environmental, social (Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA)

and Gender-Based Violence (GBV, Health and Safety (ESHS) requirements that need to be satisfied by

the Contractors in designing and executing the Works.

In 2015, Rwanda Environment Management Authority, REMA awarded a tender to ASTRIK

International to conduct a conceptual study for the establishment of urban wetland recreation and

eco-tourism park in Nyandungu valley in the City of Kigali. The study recommend a full development

of Nyandungu wetland to address the citizen opinions of ensuring the safe recreation places, offering

cutting-edge services and providing various cultural and educational program as well as contributing

to the well-being of the citizens. In May 2017, REMA contracted Gasabo 3D in Joint Venture with

ASTRIK International to carry out full development of a detailed design, landscaping design and

supervision of the project implementation.

CHICO Contractor was awarded a contract by RTDA to carry out construction work for the

Base-Rukomo road (5154Km) under the FIDIC conditions of Contract (Pink Book, AfDB), In order to
