OSHA Consultation is a voluntary approach to designing

safety and health in the workplace. By building upon labor-

management participation in the onsite consultative survey,

consultation can bring workers and employers together to

develop and implement continuing programs to control

hazards and prevent worker injuries and illnesses. Through

such pooled resources and periodic, joint self-inspections,

employers and employees together can work to make their

jobsites safer and more healthful environments.

If you request the broadest form of assistance, a complete

hazard identification consultation, by the completion of the

process you will have received:

• An appraisal of all hazards related to processes,equipment, and work practices at your site.

• An appraisal of your present job safety and healthmanagement system or guidance in establishing aneffective one.

• A conference to review the findings.

• A written report of recommendations and agreements,including a List of Hazards found.

• Training and assistance with implementingrecommendations.

• A follow-up by the consultant to ensure that anyrequired corrections have been made.
