According to psychologists, individuals understand their self-concepts on the basis of observations of their own behaviours, as well as the reactions of others to these
behaviours.
- A self-portrait photograph that is taken with a personal camera.
- Could be shared online (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, Instagram).
- Taken for different number of reasons (personal or otherwise).
- Almost a third of selfies (30%) are taken by individuals aged 18-24 with the majority of them in Western countries.1
- Could be used as a marketing strategy(Kobe vs. Messi: The Selfie Shootout).
