CONTACT PROOF ANALYSIS Why did I cross the images above? Blurry Some of the images I took of my sister came out slightly blurry - for example DSC_002.JPG - so I decided they wouldn't be good to use in my magazine. This is because if I used blurry images in my magazine it would make the reader think that it was unprofessional. This could also deter the target audience from reading the magazine because if they saw blurry photos they would instantly prejudge the magazine negatively and think that the photos reflected the quality of the content. Also, because I am using these photos to advertise clothing they need to be clear so the reader can clearly see the time which is being advertised. If blurry, the reader may get confused to what the item of clothing actually looks like which would cause problems for the magazine. Look unprofessional Some of the images I took of my sister don't provide the professional look I was going for in my magazine. For example the photo DSC_0009.JPG would have been a great picture to use to show off the raincoat but I captured the climbing frame in my garden in the photo round the edge of the frame which makes the photo look like it shouldn't feature in a magazine which is high quality. I thought I could maybe still used the image and crop the edge of the photo but it looked too close up and began to look slightly pixelated. Angles I didn't like some of the images because the angles didn't look attractive to the audience I wanted to target. This is because of the fact I am targeting a young audience so I want the images

CONTACT PROOF ANALYSIS

Why did I cross the images above? ● Blurry

Some of the images I took of my sister came out slightly blurry - for example DSC_002.JPG - so I decided they wouldn't be good to use in my magazine.

● Look unprofessional Some of the images I took of my sister don't provide the professional look I was going for in my magazine.

● Angles I didn't like some of the images because the angles didn't look attractive to the audience I wanted to target. This is because of the fact I am targeting a young audience so I want the images

I include to be intense and stand out to the reader. An example of a bad angle was the photo DSC_0034.JPG because the model b I took the photo at a distance from the model and she was crouched down she didn’t take up a large area of the frame therefore meaning her clothing didn’t stand out.

● Model errorsSome of the images above weren’t appropriate because the model wasn’t doing the right thing. For example, on the photo DSC_0017.JPG I took the photo of the model whilst she was talking so this isn’t a photo I could use because it doesn’t look like a professional photo that has been planned it just looks like a photo I’ve taken catching her off guard.

● Can’t see the modelI decided to take some images where you can’t see the model but they weren’t effective because I am going to add extra photos of clothing not being modelled to get a closer look at it into the magazine as well as the modelled photos. An example of when this really looked unattractive to the target audience was DSC_0086.JPG. If I had used this photo with all other pictures where you can see the model it would have looked odd.

Why did I tick the images above?● Clear images

The pictures I have chosen to use are all of high quality which will give my magazine the professional look I am aiming for. I chose these over some of the photos which were blurred and/or unfocused because it is important for my magazine to look like it is of high quality.

● The model● On all the photos I have the chosen the model looks natural rather than

pulling faces that are inappropriate. For example I decided to use the photo shown on the left rather than the one on the right. This is because on the photo on the left she looks more natural and isn’t doing anything with her face whereas on the photo to the right she looks like she is talking.

● Show off the clothesAll of the photos I have chosen to use show of the items I am advertising clearly so the reader of the magazine will have no confusion about what the items look like.

● Look professional When creating my magazine I want to ensure it is of high enough quality to pass as a magazine that could be published. Therefore when choosing the photos that will feature in my magazine I decided to pick the ones that demonstrated the most professional quality.
