There is no heading to suggest this is the contents page as the reader should already know this as it comes across as a well known popular magazine but there is a big black bold heading which states ‘We Love This…’ in order to draw the specific target audience in.

on the contents page there are a variety of images related to the genre of pop; some are presented as mid shot small images whereas others are larger and more dominant.

The images are mainly of well known pop music artists and groups such as, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, The Saturdays, Lawson, One direction, Katy Perry and The Wanted, which will be sure to pull in the older teenagers of which this

magazine is aimed at.

The larger images are captioned with quotes from further on inside the magazine to draw the reader in and make them want to turn to that specific page. The people in the larger images are represented as fun, and outgoing with their unusual hair styles which again goes with the whole house style and genre of the magazine.

The images are staged so it looks like the artists are looking directly at the reader which therefore creates an enigma.

The fashion style of some of the female artists will make the reader want to continue reading. So they can find out their fashion secrets.

There is also an editors letter to the reader which is done to create direct address and to make them feel that this is the magazine for them with tons jam packed inside.

Underneath this there is a box filled with relevant page numbers with a small caption to inform the reader as to whats on that specific page.

There are no blank spaces on this page and the border colours of pink and blue make the whole page look more elaborate and vibrant which represents the magazines house style and pop genre.

Furthermore the contents page features a text box with the sub-heading of ‘Inside this month’ listing all other features within the magazine and the page numbers. This simple layout makes it easy for the reader to find the main features of the magazine and look for any other features

In this contents page taken from ‘We Love Pop’ the colour schemed used is a bright orange and sky blue, these colours are fresh, bright and bold reflecting the youthful readership. By using these bold and bright colours are throughout each issue of ‘We Love Pop’ it contributes to a sense of brand identity.

We love pop’ maintain their brand identity by using their logo on the contents page in the right hand corner of the page, moreover the font used for each title and the main body of text remains the same throughout the magazine helping to establish a signature look.

The main title used for the contents page is ‘We love this’ rephrasing the name of the magazine to the contents title of the magazine. This is the largest piece of text and is in a bold font, as it sets the tone of what the page entitles.

Each issue the editor of ‘We Love Pop’ writes a letter addressing the readers talking about the making of that particular issue, it is worded in a using friendly conversational tone using direct address towards the reader making the reader feel personally involved in the magazine, the editors signature is even added at the end to make the letter feel more realistic.

A puff is used in the left hand corner stating ‘For your eyes only’ this makes the information given in the magazine seem exclusive and secret between the reader and ‘We love pop’.

The main image used in this contents page of ‘We love pop’ is of One Direction, linking to the interview with the new band inside. One Direction will appeal to the target audience as they are one of the T.A’s ‘Boy crushes’ one of the T.A’s key interests.

The sell line continues ‘Save your pocket money! One direction arent pricey’ this sell line is important as it makes the sell line relevant to the readership the language used is informal creating a conversational tone between the magazine and the reader.

The page number of the interview has been placed over the image making it easy for the reader to navigate through the magazine to find the main features.
