Chairman’s Message
Dear Shareholders and All, On behalf of me and my colleagues the board of directors, it gives me great pleasure in presenting
the annual report for the year 2015. Qatar Central Securities Depository (QCSD) was created as part of reforms in the capital market infrastructure in the state of Qatar. QCSD is performing a central role in the development and support of Qatari financial market by safekeeping and managing of investors’ securities and providing the best services to the market and investors through the use of the best and newest technologies. QCSD, has been able to receive the International Standards Organization (ISO) Certificate for the Quality Management System (ISO) from the British Standards Institution (BSI) in Qatar despite its recent establishment which represents its commitment to provide services of better standards. CEO’s Message
QCSD is pleased to present its annual report for 2015 which presents the most
important activities and developments in the company during the year.
The report contains three parts, the first one describes the achievement of the
company during 2015, the current projects implemented, the future projects and
growth prospects including main indicators of the company which include a
comparison between 2015 and 2014. This report gives the reader a global view on
the work in Qatar Central Securities Depository.
The second part includes the data of the registered companies in Qatar Central
Securities Depository like the shareholding companies and financial services
companies, which makes this report an important reference for investors.
The third part presents detailed processes and operations that took place during 2015
and shows detailed information about traded shares, ownership transfers and
ownership level registered in the company.
The Qatar Central Depository Securities as one of the fundamental pillars in the
structure of building financial markets in the state has looked to keep up with the rapid
developments in the field of trading and settlement and clearing and registration and
custody of securities, and so to meet regulatory requirements in the country and
abroad as well as cooperation and coordination with financial services companies,
which will reflect positively on the quality of services provided in the field of securities
in the State and provide a sophisticated and interactive work environment, which
serves the interests of the Qatari economy.
So, I seize this opportunity to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to all those
who contributed to this success either with guidance or support and hoped that efforts
continue to achieve the visions and aspirations for a better future and of the company
and securities markets.

QCSD Achievements in 2015
After obtaining all necessary regulatory approvals, Qatar Central Securities Depository (QCSD)
has commenced its live operations with effect from Thursday, 02-Jan-2014.
Resources:
In order to maintain and provide a high level of services to all our investors, issuers and other
important stakeholders, QCSD has been able to retain all of the critical resources. These include
critical staffs for front office i.e. Customer Service, Delivery Versus Payment, Operations etc.
Customer Service:
QCSD has been able to successfully set up an independent functional customer service office from
day one. This includes all necessary office infrastructure such as phones, faxes, point of sales
machines, queeing machines, etc. It is providing all services such as account opening, transfers,
issuing certificates, handling queries, etc. It has been able to serve both male and female customers
effectively even with increased volumes of the IPO work.
Operations:
This operations include Corporate Actions, IPO, pledging, freezing securities, delivery versus
payment operations and ownership’s transfers.
Fresh IPO:
During the first month of its live operations, QCSD had to manage the first IPO shares of Mesaieed
Petrochemical Holding Company. The number of investors was 198,787.
Website:
QCSD has successfully created its own bi-lingual website i.e. in Arabic and in English. All necessary
information about QCSD is uploaded on the website. It includes required forms/information etc.

Current and future projects:
Replacement some of its systems:
QCSD is under way to replace its existing post trade operations systems i.e. NASDAQ OMX.
IT Infrastructure:
Another critical strategy which will be executed in line with the system replacement is the setting up
of IT infrastructure including servers, networking, data center, etc.
SMS services:
QCSD launched the SMS Services in 27/12/2015, through these services, the shareholder will be
promptly informed about the operations carried out on his/her account and any changes occurred
on his/her securities balances registered in QCSD.
Daily E-Statement:
QCSD launched the service of daily E-Statement (Portfolio) which enables the investor to follow its
securities registered in QCSD .This service is available from 27/12/2015.
Call Centre:
In order to effectively interact with its customers and provide better and prompt services, QCSD
strategy is to operate a call center in 2017.
Mobile Apps solution:
A mobile solution will be developed to provide investors e-services through apps (Apple (iPhone)
and Android) in 2017

Growth Prospects
As there is no other company authorized by the regulator to provide these services, QCSD sees a
tremendous potential in its growth and has identified few areas.
The company has endeavored to increase the existing network of its services by:
1. Increasing the number of participant i.e. Increase the number of retail clients.
2. Expanding the membership base.
3. Expanding the number of custodian participants.
4. Expanding the CSD services by providing post trade services to new asset classes.
5. Assisting and supporting all new initiatives taken by the QE wherein the CSD services are
required.
6. Introducing new and innovative CSD services.
7. Providing unlisted companies with various CSD services.
8. Providing over-the-counter (OTC) services as ownership transfer of unlisted companies.
9. Building a secured and highly available environment by applying the latest data security
strategies and putting a strategy for business continuity and disaster recovery.
