Course InformationMWEA offers more than a dozen classes specific to wastewater treatment and throughout all the stages of the process. These were developed by MWEA members and subject matter experts. Today these classes are taught, reviewed and edited by MWEA members. Our instructors are invested in the success and future of water industry professionals in Michigan. The classes are conducted by a single instructor with a small class size and they are offered in various areas of the state to cut down on travel for attendees.

Operator Certification Exams This course is intended to assist persons in preparing to take the Michigan Class B and A Wastewater Operator Certification exams. Participants will receive a study guide that provides an overview of the major treatment processes and related operational, laboratory, and management principles and procedures. However, due to the amount of information and limited class time, the in-class presen-tation will focus on key process controls and formulas, and solving sample problems. As such, participants should bring a calculator to class and should have an advanced knowledge of wastewater treatment methods and equipment prior to taking the course.
