COMMENTS: The District contracted with Western Telecommunications Consultants in April 2008 to assess the Districtwide technology infrastructure and working with our Technology Planning and Implementation team, developed a 7-year Strategic Infrastructure and Telecom - munications Plan. The plan called for an upgrade to our existing network to support our growing data needs and highlighted the need to replace the legacy telephone and voice mail system with a Voice over Internal Protocol system and unified messaging architecture. The District chose to conduct a prequalification process and developed a Request for Qualifications. Six pre-qualified vendors were selected. On June 1, 2010, the District released the Request for Proposal to these vendors and made a final selection in January 2011. DecoTech was and the District developed a design contract with them. DecoTech is currently conducting a detailed review of each site and will be providing their design document by October 2011. Upon receipt, review, and agreement of the design, the District expects to move forward.
