Contrary Wind and the Caring Lord LEADING TO THE STORM (“He Who brought you to it will lead you

through it.”) Compelled to get into a boat

Appears that the disciples did not want to … The way of duty is not always easy Why did the disciples hesitated? Is the Lord compelling you to …

Commanded to go to the other side No reason given (“we walk by faith”) Travelling without Jesus (His physical presence) Can we believe Christ is with us, even when our circumstances points to the

contrary Promise of meeting Him on the other side (Constrained to go before (ahead)

of Him He gives direction as we go (Obedience comes first) He does this for our good: to keep us dependent on Him in prayer Moses was not given a “how to manual.”; they were lead step by step

“tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary” Their only comfort: “constrained by Jesus.”

Coming Christ “Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea”

“And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.” v32
