Reliv Europe had so much to shout about last year, with too many achievements to mention in one letter. However, I’m sure you would agree that the European visits by our American friends and colleagues certainly provided us with some special and memorable moments: Company Founder Robert Montgomery’s visit to Europe in mid-June, the several trips made by Presidential Four-Time Platinum Ambassadors Joe and Carol Felger and having Presidential Gold Ambassadors Trish and Doug Fischer as our special guests at September’s very successful European Conference in The Hague.

All of these people talk about the excitement, positivity, enthusiasm and fun that they witness in Europe. So much so that they all want to return as soon as possible, as do many Ambassadors from other Reliv markets who I speak to! They want to come to Europe to join in on what is happening here and see just why we are doing so well. But overall, these Ambassadors and leaders from other markets want to meet all of our fantastic Distributors… they want to meet YOU!

I was 23 years old when I first got behind the concept of network marketing. The idea that I could create my own destiny and grow personally without someone restricting me was very exciting. I could be my own boss. I didn’t need to have someone telling me when I could take time off or whether or not I could stay home with a sick child. This is what impressed me the most about network marketing and the lifestyle it offered. It’s the reason I couldn’t stop talking about it.

It was also the notion that the “sky was the limit” that really appealed to me. In fact, this was the most important thing in the world. I could earn more on my own terms. All of these things were important then, but they’re also important now. And I bet they are important to you too. This is why I believe in network marketing!

Believing in PeopleI also believe in the power of people. I learned that everyone has something in themselves that could make them a successful business owner. And when you become as excited as I was about something, you want to share it with everyone. I started Reliv with my wife, Sandy, at our kitchen table. Why couldn’t you start your Reliv business from your kitchen table? You can!

One of the keys to getting started is to know where you are going. Earl Nightingale once said that if you can determine what 95% of the world does each day and then do just the opposite you will have everything you ever wanted in your life. 95% of the people in the world don’t have a plan for success and they don’t recognise the importance of putting other people first. It’s the other 5% that really have a plan to get somewhere.

When you start a Reliv business, you want to talk to everyone you meet about Reliv. You should look for that 5% to build with you, but you can never know when you will come across one of them. If you were to walk down the street, one out of 20 people you would meet could possibly be one of those people, but you never know which ones could be the 5% people. Treat everyone with respect and help them to feel important. Then put all of your focus on helping THEM succeed. Bernard Baruch once said, “Find out what a person wants and help them get it and you will have everything in your life that you’ve ever wanted.”

Believing in ProductsLike many of you, I had taken vitamins for years not really doing myself any good. Sandy and I started taking Dr. Ted’s formula in 1982 and we saw how the product helped our family. We realised we needed to do something to get this product to other people.

STAYING ACTIVE WITH ABusy LifestyleA lot of us may fall into the category of having sedentary lifestyles. We may have jobs where we are required to sit down for long periods of time. We may struggle to juggle day-to-day tasks and to allocate time to fit structured exercise into the week. A lot of us can relate to manic schedules. Then the weekend arrives and it is often full of commitments — family commitments, social arrangements, not to mention all the jobs we ‘didn’t get around to’ in the week. The thought of taking up an exercise class or an active hobby fills you with dread as there just isn’t enough time.

However, we are more than aware that we should be more active and that we should be fulfilling our quota of

and completing at least 30 minutes of moderate to high intensity exercise. We are more than aware of the benefits this would bring to our waistlines, health, joints, mental outlook and mood.

TRY FOLLOWING THESE SIMPLE IDEAS BELOW:

Work out at your desk — improve circulation, mental focus and give your muscles a gentle workout within the day. Always remember to breathe normally whilst performing exercises.

� Single leg raises. Sitting in your chair, lift one leg off the seat, extend it out straight, hold for 2 seconds; then lower your foot (stop short of the floor) and hold for several seconds. Switch; do each leg 15 times.

� Feet sprints. Remain seated on your chair and sprint with your feet for 30 seconds Rest for 30 seconds and repeat 3 times. You should feel your heart rate rise.

� Glute squeezes. Squeeze your glutes, hold for 5 seconds, relax for 5 seconds and repeat 10 times.

� Abdominal squeezes. Bring your pelvic floor in and tighten your stomach. Hold for 5 seconds, relax for 5 seconds and repeat 10 times.

� Arm circles. Simply perform small circular motions with your arms whilst held out straight. Perform 30 seconds clockwise, 30 seconds anti-clockwise and repeat 3-5 times.

� Repeat this circuit as often as is required.

Stretch out at your desk to avoid getting stiff and immobile. For example, to stretch your back, sit up straight and try to pull your shoulder blades together. Hold, and then relax.

Pick more active activities for family time.

Use half of your lunch-break to take a brisk walk outside — the fresh air will make you feel more alert and the exercise will do you good!

Use housework as a time to burn calories (30 minutes of moderate housework could burn up to 100 calories!)

WHEN I WAS ASKED TO WRITE this article, I really wanted to think about the reality of my journey. Here is a reflection of my 10 years in the business and how being a part of Reliv inspires personal growth.

I started my business because I wanted the freedom of not having a boss, nobody telling me when I could be with my kids and nobody telling me how much I was worth. When I became an Independent Reliv Distributor, I found that there were a lot of things to learn, but I didn’t need to know a lot of things in order to start building my business.

From my first bonus cheque to my largest residual income cheque, my goal has been the same and that is family freedom.

EXPERIENCING PERSONAL

Many people say that they are teachable, but when you actually start mentoring them, it’s pretty obvious that they are not. I have to say that when I first started my business, I was not that teachable but as I became exposed to the Reliv System, it opened my eyes to what it meant to be teachable.

It is virtually impossible to build a Reliv business without having personal growth, and it is impossible to have personal growth if you’re not teachable.

You will bring skill sets with you to your Reliv business because you have life, academic and business experiences. But you have to lay these experiences to one side and get taught the Reliv way before you can integrate them into your business.

The challenge is when somebody comes into Reliv that has got a lot of experience, they have to be able to humble themselves in order to be taught and that takes character. We all have a level of ego but you have to weigh your ego against your bank account and see which one weighs the most. If your ego doesn’t weigh as much as your bank account, then you have to get rid of it. If you don’t, you will never build a successful Reliv business.

We are in Network Marketing not ‘No Work Marketing’. In other words, you have to do something in order to grow your business. There are too many messages out there in the industry that say do nothing and get paid. I am so glad that I never heard any of these messages on my Reliv journey. The message with Reliv is very clear: if you put the work in, you will reap the rewards.

My Reliv journey has had ups and downs. I’ve been introduced to some great people but I’ve also met some not so great people — that is called the journey of life. The one thing that has kept me constant is the vision that I bought into when I first joined the business and heard Robert Montgomery speak. Not only have I experienced personal growth in this business but I have seen how the company itself has evolved.

For anybody looking at Reliv for the very first time and wanting to judge the quality of the company, judge it based on the quality of its leadership. Look at Bob Montgomery, look at the likes of Eric Vill and just see what people say about them. When I first started my Reliv business, it was very important for me to know that the company was going to be around for the next 20-30+ years and that I could believe in the leadership.

I have definitely grown as a person and in the process of building my business, I have learnt how to deal with different types of people and how to not let certain types of people affect me. I still have a lot more to learn and a lot more to achieve but I’m really excited about the journey.

This opportunity is designed for leaders and if you are a good leader, you will learn how to raise up other leaders. As you raise up other leaders, they will initially be dependent on you as you show them what to do. But soon they become independent from you, knowing how to do things without you and growing in confidence. You then continue to work together consistently, being interdependent on each other. That is the beauty of building a Reliv business.

I love what my personal mentor in the business, Bob Edmonds, says, “Reliv is the best personal development programme disguised as a business that I have ever seen!”

Reliv Europe Presidential Bronze Ambassadors Colette and Bernard Dhellemmes travelled to see first-hand the work of the Reliv Kalogris Foundation in Haiti. “Reliv had organised for us to see for ourselves what the Kalogris Foundation did in Haiti. This trip entitled “See the Change 2016” consisted of 5 days in Haiti, from 28th February – 3rd March, 2016. About 15 of us made this trip where we met Dr. Emmanuel Mareus (Manno to his friends). He is responsible for the 44 feeding programmes in northern Haiti. These programmes enable around 11,000 children to receive a Reliv shake every day.

We went straight from the plane to the Reliv Kalogris Foundation Home that houses around 50 orphans. We then went to see several schools where we helped to hand out Reliv Now for Kids and chatted with the teachers and children – in English and in French! We spent one afternoon repainting the walls in a school and also visited Dr. Manno’s clinic and the university next to it.

We were shocked by the extreme poverty, the amount of rubbish in the streets, the traffic jams of cars and tap-taps (public transport vans), half-finished breeze-block houses and holes everywhere in the roads. We were also amazed at the number of children there were, in particular those in school uniform.

We were in a group with Americans (including Ryan and Tracy Montgomery) who were full of energy, playing with the children, ready to do anything. We were moved by the kindness and the smiles of the people we met, particularly the children.”

I was lucky to have heard of Reliv whilst I was still a student. I really wanted to be one of those people who helps others with their wellbeing and building their own business. When something changes your life you want to talk about it and share it, and that is exactly what working with Reliv is about — that really motivates me!

I reached this level through perseverance and doing the same thing every day: talking to people, thinking of people, passing on information and, above all, working as a team. My upline and team help me by their own example and by their daily support.

I know that I will build my Reliv business over time. At the moment I have a baby, another job as an artist and in the long-term, Reliv will help me to prioritise what is important to me: looking after my baby whilst still working. I am extremely lucky to be able to make a living from my passions: art and wellbeing.

My advice to other Distributors looking to advance is to persevere and never be discouraged. Rely on your team for help and always use the System.

I am thrilled to be a Key Director! I was really pleased that I achieved it during the “Travelling the World Together” promotion. That is why my husband and I earned a fantastic trip to Tenerife!

In order to advance to Key Director, I focused on helping my colleagues and friends in my downline to become Master Affiliates and to build a team of other Master Affiliates.

It is my goal in the future to help other Distributors build their businesses and to drive my own business to reach the next level of Senior Director.

We are very proud to have advanced to Presidential Directors, particularly as our success means that our downline are experiencing success too. We don’t have a miracle recipe for reaching this level; to succeed you have to talk about Reliv and follow the System and encourage others to do the same. You need to talk about Reliv wisely, responsibly, whilst all the time being ready to listen to the people you meet.

Our advice to people who want to advance through the ranks is learn to listen and make people want to learn about Reliv. Make the most of the freedom this work gives you by not only helping yourself but also meeting others you can help. Be present at all Reliv events and find your own way of talking about Reliv. We will continue building our business for as long as we are able to (we are currently 67 and 68) with joy and enthusiasm and one day we hope to pass it onto to our children.

It was a surprise to advance to Presidential Directors — it was a goal to reach this level but I didn’t think we would reach it so quickly! What I am very much aware of is that Reliv has turned me (Eglantine) into a more confident person. I am very proud of all the professional knowledge I have gained whilst using the tools that Reliv has given to me. My husband has continued to support me and it has been great working together.

To advance to this level, I worked on a daily basis with my upline, downline and other teams as well. I regularly talked to new people, my existing clients, other Distributors and professionals from different backgrounds and I used the System as often as possible. Always be sure to call your team with any questions you have and use each tool that Reliv gives you.

In this job we are limited only by ourselves, our prejudices and fears. If we overcome them we really do have the opportunity to live our dream. I really enjoy working with my team and if I were to advance further and become a Bronze Ambassador, it would mean that my team is also living their dream!

Shelby & Daniel HillSenior Directors

It feels awesome to be Senior Directors. Dan is a full-time pastor and I am Vice President of a scouting group, so we have always worked Reliv on a part-time level but with a full-time heart! We have six kids and seven grandkids so our lives are busy. Our kids were really proud of us for this achievement.

We achieved this level by helping new Distributors get established and confident in the business. We made an effort to know more about our Distributors and their customers so we could help them get what they need from Reliv.

In the future we are going to keep climbing! Reliv is the answer for our retirement needs. Nothing else we are doing can give us the income and time freedom we need to do other things that are essential to our lives and the lives of others.

Our advice to other Distributors is to build strong, authentic and trusting relationships in your team. Help them meet successful Distributors through the Reliv System and build good relationships with them. That way they will have a huge story base to help them build their businesses.

Paying Bills: Joel had been off work for two years whilst being seriously sick which caused us to seriously think about our residual bills. We actively started our Reliv business in September 2016 and in the first three months we made £1000. This paid one of our residual bills outright — our car insurance!

Rewarding Business: The excitement of building a Reliv business and the joy you feel when helping others is truly heart-warming. Doing this business is rewarding on so many levels, the financial gains are just the cherry on the top.
