lot of intense emotion and tension between some of the

characters, the characters also end up solving the problem.

This film follows Todorov’s theory of equilibrium, where

everything is fine at first then their lives are disrupted by a particular event of which they

try to resolve then everything is new equilibrium

Atonement

The conventions for Atonement are, Family situation, tension

between the characters, audience relating to the

character, internal and external conflict, intense emotion, and the relationship between the

characters. However in the film the

problems are not resolved.

In this film the conventions are, internal conflict, intense emotion,

tension, at the beginning there are external conflict, family

situation and the relationship between the characters. In this

film the problems were also solved.
