Conventions of film magazine: On both my magazine and the film magazine which I am comparing it to they both have a big mast head in a bold font to draw attention to it. This is conventional as all magazines will have the title there. There is one main image in the centre of the page which is of a character featured in the magazine, usually in full costume as they would have been in the film, which is also the same on the FILM magazine cover. It is the main feature of the magazine which is why there is one big image and no others. This is conventional for magazines as this draws people attention. On both of the magazine covers there is good use of the left third which is conventional for magazines, via adding cover lines down the sides. Conventions of film magazine:On both my magazine and the film magazine which I am comparing it to they both have a big mast head in a bold font to draw attention to it. This is conventional as all magazines will have the title there.

There is one main image in the centre of the page which is of a character featured in the magazine, usually in full costume as they would have been in the film, which is also the same on the FILM magazine cover. It is the main feature of the magazine which is why there is one big image and no others. This is conventional for magazines as this draws people attention.

On both of the magazine covers there is good use of the left third which is conventional for magazines, via adding cover lines down the sides. These give more information about what is inside the magazine which makes the reader more interested. There are less on the other side as you are more attracted to the left side.

The weapon that the character in the image is holding is conventional for the horror genre and lets the audience know that this magazine is about horror films.
