C/PA mandatory %ields not validated during posting

Purpose

Sometimes customers post -" .00 documents and %eel that the system ignores the settings %or the mandatory characteristics i1e1 initial values are posted %or these characteristics1 #his W"2" page is

intended to e3plain the system behavior and possible solutions and !or4arounds1

/vervie!

 A customer can con%igure characteristic groups in transaction codes 2$PA and 2$5G1 6ere he can speci%y some characteristics as mandatory1 #he reason system saves the -" document ignoring the

2$PA settings i1e1 7about the missing validation o% mandatory characteristics o% a char group8 characteristic groups are /NL9 evaluated !hen you process the pro%itability segment screen in visible mode

7so that you can manually enter C/:PA characteristics and react on any error messages caused by the de%inition o% the relevant characteristic group81

  "% you don;t process the pro%itability segment screen 7i% you do not visit the screen or it happens in the bac4ground8 there !ill be no chec4 at all o% mandatory characteristics1 #hat;s the !ay the usage

to be tested by the customer1

pro%itability segment screen and enter the missing characteristic value1

chec4 to your code be%ore the AP" is called1 "% you !ant to avoid that %or special business transactions initial values are posted in C/:PA you have to ma4e sure that the table ;CR"#$R"A; contains the

complete data1 #here%ore you have to implement such a chec4 in your program at the point in time !here the table ;CR"#$R"A; is %illed1

Conclusion

 "% the !or4arounds given above do not help then you can try and validate this in C/PA user e3it i1e1 either C/PA+++ or C/PA+++<1
