Pancake Day is on 4th March this year.

English people have pancakes for breakfast or for lunch.

To make pancakes you need eggs, flour, milk and butter. You can add lemon, lime or sugar. Delicious!!

Why do English people celebrate pancake day?

The oldest recipe for a pancake is from 1439. They are very old!

People cook pancakes to use up all the eggs and flour before Lent, the 40 days before Easter. During Lent some people don´t eat anything.

Toss your pancake!! The funnest thing about making

pancakes is tossing them. But be careful: they can get stuck on the ceiling!

These people are having a pancake race: they run and toss pancakes at the same time.

The most famous pancake race is in Olney, a town in the

South of England.
