School Unit: 3rd Junior High School, ChaniaStudents participants: A mixed team of students (17 boys, 15 girls)Etwinning school: Gomarus College, Drachten, The Netherlands.

The involved students of both schools attempted to approach cross culturally, and within a specific context, 3 fields of interest: art, history and literature. Through cross-thematic and group tasks, they exchanged information and knowledge in relation to the specific modules, they enlightened their cross-cultural perception and developed learning skills (the use of a foreign language, familiarization with computer technology) but also social skills (team-work, cultural tolerance), and built friendly relationships.

‘The Greek eTwinners’ fingerprints’

With the specific creation, we took part in the photo contest for the 10-year anniversary calendar of eTwinning. The results were posted on 16/01/2015 and our creation was among the 12 voted ones. We later used this print on T-shirts we offered our e-Twinners as memorabilia.

First module: ‘ART: El Greco’

The Greek e-twinners tried through different approaches and activities, to immerse into the life and work of El Greco. At the same time they invited their Dutch e-twinners to do the same. We all enjoyed this voyage to the life and works of an artist who rejected the idea of an art easily accessible to a large public. The Dutch e-twinners worked on Vincent Van Gogh.1. Third module- Literature:The 2nd WW in GreeceWar can inhibit creativity but can also inspire it. There is a wide range of ways in which intellectual people in Greece involved events in the WW2 time period and expressed their feelings and thoughts towards the atrocities of the war.The years of conflict figure prominently in many works produced back then, samples of which follow. The Greek students focused on WW2 in Greece and proceeded to a record of the events through artistic expression. The Dutch students would present ‘Anne's Frank diary’.1. The 2nd WW Through The Eyes of Greek men of letters (google

On April 19th our etwinning team travelled to Drachten to meet our Dutch friends.During our staying there, we made a short presentation so that our hosts would have the chance to take a taste of our culture! The students also got involved into many ice-breaking activities! They had a marvelous time during their stay and got an insight of a culture quite different from our own!3 weeks later, we welcomed our friends here in Chania! Friendly relationships had already been built and were strengthened even more!
