• Copyright Law was established in the Copyright Act of 1976 which states that an original creation by the author is protected.

• The forms of a creation are as follows: Literary Works, Musical, Dramatic, Pantomimes and choreographic works, pictorial, graphic, sculptural, motion pictures, sound recordings.

• Copyright also gives the author or creator exclusive right to reproduce, or allow others to use this or her work.

• Copyright law is different than trademark law: trademark is just talking about a specific word.

• News and blogs are allowed to use copyrighted material word for word because of courts decisions that it is considering "fair use" for those mediums to use it.

• Since Supreme Court has become more strict when it comes to copyright usage by bloggers, external media etc...
