4. New Business - Voting for PSD Ballot

o Clarification by Dr. King: Change to the ballot so that teachers may vote yes or no on whether they want to have the days or not and how many days will be scheduled (8, 6 or 5 days).

o All voting members unanimously voted yes to use the current PSD Ballot.

- Voting to use Accountability funds for Cambridge Programme The board will vote on whether we are approved to have the Cambridge Programme at our school on January 28th ,2020. In the event that it is approved we would like to vote on whether accountability funds can be used to start the programme.

o Ms. Allen Osborne asked what percentage of the budget will be used for the Cambridge Programme. Dr. King and Ms. Suarez responded that we do not have a concrete number but it is estimated to cost $20,000. Ms. Allen Osborne asked how much money is in the budget to which Ms. Suarez responded about $50,000. $12,000 of it has been approved to be used for funding tutoring.

o Ms. Tavares asked if the Cambridge Programme will replace Quantum Leap. Dr. King responded that it will replace it eventually after one year’s time. AP classes will not be lost, the names will just be changed to Cambridge so that more students will have access to the bright future scholarships.

o Nathaniel Pelton asked if Cambridge is acknowledged as well as AP classes are by colleges. Dr. King responded that the classes are comparable, no students will be at a loss if they choose one over the other.

o Ms. Gilman asked for a description of scoring of the Cambridge Programme, Dr King responded that there are several levels in their scoring and so there are more opportunities to pass a Cambridge exam than an AP.
