A mini-excavator (12” bucket) cutting a trench to serve as a reinforcing core perpendicular to a newly installed outlet pipe. The retrofitted 80’+ of 42” reinforced concrete pipe runs from an outlet structure within an existing retention pond (left of photo) through an existing earthen berm to a nearby stream (lower right of photo).
A mini-excavator (12” bucket) continues to cut a trench to serve as a reinforcing, AquaBlok®-filled core perpendicular to the newly installed outlet pipe. (The basin is to the left and the outlet to the stream is to the right of both photos.) Note light-colored, fine grained clay used to physically compact around the pipe, primarily downstream of the AquaBlok core.
AquaBlok® suspended from an excavator and discharging into the 12” width trench from the snout of a 2,400-lb bulk supersack. Note that the stone and bentonite composite is pre-blended (in the bag) so that the coated aggregate is pour-in-place ready directly from this standard shipping unit.
An overview of the AquaBlok® core trench as it is being extended vertically up the earthen berm from beneath and around the newly installed overflow pipe.
The rehabilitated berm after the installation of the new overflow structure/pipe and AquaBlok core trench (note red line showing approximate location of trench).
