Hi everyone!!!

I'm so excited today to share with you brand new plans!

My dear friend Ashley from Shanty2Chic [5] is busy working on a brandnew house! [6] And to get ready to move in, she's already startedworking on furniture for her new house.

First up, Ashley [5] wanted to build a coffee table in a square shape,with giant turned legs, inspired somewhat by the lovely Pottery BarnCortona Coffee Table. [7]

The folks over at Osborne Wood [8] were kind enough to make speciallegs (that we can all order!) for this coffee table, and I love thesubstantialness of them!!!

I'm so grateful to have a chance to work with Ashley and draw the plansfor her (following) for this coffee table. You'll have to check them out -and maybe build too!!!

Cut List: 4 - 4”x4”x18” turned legs (we used these)8 - 1x3 @ 27 1/2” (aprons)1 - 3/4” plywood @ 33” x 33” (bottom shelf)7 - 2x6 @ 27 1/2” (tabletop center boards)2 - 2x6 @ 38 1/2” (breadboard ends - cut to fit)

General Instructions: Please read through the entire plan and all comments before beginningthis project. It is also advisable to review the Getting Started Section.Take all necessary precautions to build safely and smartly. Work on aclean level surface, free of imperfections or debris. Always use straightboards. Check for square after each step. Always predrill holes beforeattaching with screws. Use glue with finish nails for a stronger hold.Wipe excess glue off bare wood for stained projects, as dried glue willnot take stain. Be safe, have fun, and ask for help if you need it. Goodluck!

Start by attaching the aprons to the legs on the sides - try using aspacer block 1/2" thick to help you inset the aprons on the legs.

TIP: Drill 3/4” pocket holes facing upward in top aprons for attachingtabletop in later steps.

Repeat to create the basic frame of the coffee table.

Notch out the corners of the bottom shelf with jigsaw. Test fit. Drill 3/4”pocket holes every 8” or so around all bottom edges of bottom shelf.Attach bottom shelf inset inside bottom aprons with 1 1/4” pocket holescrews and glue.

Build the tabletop seperately, using 1-1/2" pocket holes and 2-1/2"pocket hole screws. Attach the prebuilt top to the base using the 3/4"pocket holes you drilled in step 1 and 2 in the aprons with 1-1/4" pockethole scews, centering top on base.

Finishing InstructionsPreparation Instructions: Fill all holes withwood filler and let dry. Apply additional coats of wood filler as needed.When wood filler is completely dry, sand the project in the direction ofthe wood grain with 120 grit sandpaper. Vacuum sanded project toremove sanding residue. Remove all sanding residue on work surfacesas well. Wipe project clean with damp cloth. It is always recommendedto apply a test coat on a hidden area or scrap piece to ensure colorevenness and adhesion. Use primer or wood conditioner as needed.
