Welcome Little Learners!We had a fantastic time welcoming our Kindergarten class of 2020 for the first time on Tuesday! Our newest

students met staff, explored the school and spent their afternoon playing and learning in the Possum classroom. We can't wait to see you again next week!

Today we are grateful to have the sun shining and a mass of beautiful smiles welcoming us to our school. It is wonderful to see everyone so eager to embark upon their day of learning.

Learning opportunities in STEM

Yesterday I was with Stage 3 students as they discovered the value of patience, resilience and collaboration in their STEM task. I witnessed both fantastic teaching and learning. Students put their evaluation and complex problem solving skills to their task and it was a pleasure to watch them learn and succeed.

We take great pride in providing these learning opportunities with the knowledge that it will set our students on the path to academic, emotional and social success. I am very proud of the way everyone is responding to their learning challenges.

Construction continues

Thank you to everyone for being so flexible during this busy time of construction at our school. Everyone has been very flexible and responsible in working around all of the changes, scaffolding and barriers we currently have at school. The good news is that we are ahead of schedule and expect to be finished much earlier than our initial estimate. At this time, we plan to finish the current upgrades by the end of 2019.

Kindergarten 2020

Little Learners was a great success this week, with a 98% attendance rate for our new enrolments. If you know of anyone who has not come in to discuss 2020 Kindergarten enrolment, now is the time to remind them to come in and join our Corowa Public School family.

Fete is not far away!

Our school fete is just around the corner. We would love you help to make this a success for the P&C and for our school. Please pop in and see our office staff or talk to one of our wonderful parent committee members about what you can do to help.

Science heats up!Bilby students took their learning outside on Tuesday for an exciting Science experiment! Students used hot water

and foil heated by the sun to measure the effect heat has on a number of everyday food items.

Millie takes on Premier's Debating ChallengeCongratulations to Millie Doody on her participation in the Premier's Debating Challenge for Year 5 and 6 students! We are very proud of your effort and initiative.

Millie received her certificate of participation at our school assembly on Monday.

Fabulous PBL day!We held our second PBL day for the year last Friday, focusing on de-escalation strategies. Students enjoyed activities

including yoga, meditation and dancing, as well as writing what they are grateful for on our giant blackboard.



Quokkas, Platypus' & GordonLocal dog trainer and very close friend of Willow, Emma Grant, brought her new rottweiler pup to school on Tuesday to meet students in the Quokka and Platypus class. Gordon was met by adoring fans in both classes, with Kobi and

Amelia Grant giving classmates a run down on their new pet and puppy care.

Woolworths discovery gardenThank you to Woolworths for the donation of our Discovery Garden School Resource Kit including classroom resources.

This kit will inspire students to have fun growing vegetables and flowers and includes educational activities aligned to the school’s outcomes. We look forward to seeing the plants thriving in our school’s Sunshine Garden.

Citizens of the Week!

Building shelters in STEMFlying Fox students tested their problem solving skills this week in their STEM session! Students were asked to imagine being trapped on a deserted island and, using only newspaper and masking tape, build a shelter to protect

themselves from the elements.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Parent Information Session An NDIS Information Session to help parents work with schools and external providers is taking place at Glenroy PS on Thursday 7 November from 9:30am until 11:30am.

Galiema Gool (NDIS Coordinator) will be presenting information on the NSW Department of Education’s processes and supports available. Staff from Intereach will also be in attendance to outline their services and the Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) Program. You will have the opportunity to ask questions about the NDIS.

Parents are invited to attend the session. You are also welcome to share this information and bring Key Workers with you.

Morning tea will be provided. Please RSVP by phoning the office at Corowa PS on (02) 6033 1606 by Wednesday 6 November.
