You all made a verypositiveinfluence in my life even though J might not haveletyou know. J loveyou all. Gary

Several Comments in Gary's Letter WillEventually Affect You and Me Forever

FIRST OF ALL,GARYDIEDWhether you die in combat as Gary did or of oldage, you will die one day, and no one but God 'knows when that will be."And as it is appointed unto men once to die,but after this the judgment." HEBREWS 9:27

GARYDIED VOLUNTARILYFOR OUR FREEDOMS

Gary joined the Marine Corps and volunteeredhis service to his God and country as a memberof the Armed Forces of America. He willinglygave his life the morning he died while combating

enemy forces to ensure America will remain the"Land of the Free and Home ofthe Brave."likewise, the Bible tells us that Jesus Christ voluntarily diedfor you on an old wooden cross at a place calledCalvary. Bygiving up his life,he paid the ultimatesacrifice for the sin of the world, and He conquereddeath and sin forevermore."No man taketh it (my life) from me, but J lay

it down of myself" JOHN 10:18GARYKNEWTHATGOD LOVEDHIM

Gary loved his parents and family very much.Likewise, he knew that God loved him so muchthat He sent Jesus Christ, His Son, to die for his sin.God lovesyou and wants to rescue you fromyour sin.

"ForGod so loved the world that he gave hisonly begotten Son, that whosoever believeth

in him should not perish, but haveeverlasting life."JOHN 3:16

GARYKNEWTHE TRUTH ABOUTHIS PROBLEM OF SIN

The Bible is absolute truth and tells us that JesusChrist can set you free from sin. Gary confessedthat he was a sinner and could not blame hisparents for his wrongdoings. He knew that hissin was against God and that God would judgehim one day. You and I also have a problemwith sin. We are born with a sin nature that onlyChrist can take away.

"Allhave sinned and come short of theglory of God." ROMANS 3:23

GARYKNEWABOUT THEPENALTYFOR HIS SIN

Gary knew that he would have to live somewhereforever. The Bible tells us that there is a penalty forsin .. .it is death and separation from God forever. If you continue in your sin, your name will not befound in the "book of life"nor willyou go to heaven.

"And whosoever was not found writtenin the book of life was cast into thelake offire." REVELATION 20:15

GARYRECEIVED JESUS CHRISTASHIS PAYMENTFOR SIN

As an eight-year-old boy, Gary accepted JesusChrist as his personal Savior by receiving Himinto his heart. At that point in time, he was saved(rescued from the lake of fire),he was given eternallife in Heaven and he became a member of God'sfamily.

Salvation is a free gift from God. Gary did notearn his way to Heaven by fighting for his countryor by doing good things such as going to church, being baptized or taking communion. Salvationonly comes by confessing your sin to God, askingHim to forgive you of your sin, and receiving HisSon, Jesus Christ, by faith as your personal Savior.

. ."But as many as received him, to them gave

, I'he power to become the sons of God, even

to them that believe on his name," JOHN 1:12
