INTRODUCTION
As independent cost and property consultants with offices in London, Brighton, Glasgow, Stevenage and Birmingham, our clients benefit from local knowledge alongside the broader outlook, resource and experience of the national company.
A unique combination of independence, national coverage and panoramic thinking helps us to deliver certainty on individual projects and to establish long-term client relationships.
Our ethos is ‘Building Futures’ - we aim to positively impact those within our circle of influence:
Our clientsBalancing industry knowledge with a desire to know more, we engage fully to help shape the future of our clients’ businesses. With a focus on the end goal, we positively influence the value and quality of their product.
Our communitiesWe help to realise projects that make significant improvements to people’s lives, extending our commitment beyond the usual project boundaries to actively engage in a range of CSR initiatives.
Our environmentOur broad field of vision means that we consider the environmental sustainability of our business activities, ensuring that they are responsible in terms of their impact, and have ongoing value to future generations.
Our businessOur business is proudly independent, richly skilled and unashamedly ambitious. We offer our clients commercial confidence, and our people long-term stability and opportunities.
Our peopleWe seek out talented people with a spirit of professionalism, energy and experience, and help them to build their own futures through inspirational leadership and the breathing space to develop.
Cost certainty is crucial to project success. In the current market where costs are rising rapidly, independent and informed advice is required to establish the right budget, select an appropriate procurement route and then to rigorously control costs through delivery.
Cost management is at the heart of RLF’s business; our team is highly experienced, commercially astute and enviably well-connected. They can provide clear advice and management based on both local values, costs and markets, and on national benchmarks, from project inception through to the final account.
With early involvement during feasibility, our cost consultants are able to estimate costs from a strategic point of view, enabling you as client, and other stakeholders, to run viability appraisals.
Once a project is confirmed, we are skilled in developing cost plans which are reassuringly robust and sufficiently flexible to allow manoeuvrability as the project moves forward.
The increasingly lively construction market is bringing more selectivity from contractors, so we market test early to de-risk the budget, advise on procurement and help to make sure that the tender process is well managed.
Once on site, we work proactively with the rest of the team to identify issues that may impact the budget before they arise, carefully control change, and make sure everyone is focused on delivering to a finite budget.
