COURSE WORK DETAILS
ASSIGNMENT 1 (20%): Exercises/Questions design (pair work) Identify a reading text or reading paragraphs (Linear or Non-linear) Design 10 questions based on the reading text or reading paragraphs identified
The question must be based on at least three reading skills learned, including vocabulary questions.
The questions must be accompanied by the answers (in a different section) The reading skill chosen for each question must identified
The written part must include: the form of the targeted students (between Form 1- Form 5) the students’ proficiency level (beginners to advanced) the topic from the syllabus (the reading topics for Form 1- Form 5) the curriculum specifications (the reading skills for Form 1- Form 5) 10 questions designed the reading text or reading paragraphs identified

PROJECT 1 (40%): Materials design/development (Group work: 4 students in a group) Reading problems identification: 10%
Identify authentic reading problems by interviewing ONE English teacher at ONE secondary school. The interview data need to be transcribed in order to identify the reading problems mentioned by the teacher.
Elements to identify from the interview: the proficiency of the students (beginner to advanced) the form of the students (Form 1 – Form 5) the reading problems measures/actions taken to overcome the reading problems activities conducted to help students overcome the reading problems
Activities design: 20% From the reading problems identified, design activities which would help to overcome the
reading problems (starting from pre-reading activities to post-reading activities) In the activities designed, include the elements below:
the proficiency of the students the form of the students (Form 1 – Form 5) the topic from the syllabus (the reading topics for Form 1- Form 5) the curriculum specifications (the reading skills for Form 1- Form 5) the rationale(s) of the activities designed
